When I was collecting comics in the 90s, Miller was absolutely in my top 10. I was really into his Batman and Daredevil stuff, and bought all of the Sin City stuff he put out. These days, I have little interest in his work outside of those memories. I did dig his run of covers on Lone Wolf & Cub, though.
I haven't read a lot of Gaiman outside of Miracleman and Sandman. Again, if it were the 90s, he'd be a contender, but three decades later, it's a question of what have you done for me lately?
I like Kirby but don't bow to the altar. I liked his Fantastic Four stuff the best, and Tales of Asgard.

My username is short for common denominator, which is a nickname I gave myself playing high school sports. It's supposed to be read common d.

It's supposed to be read common d. That makes sense and is quite clever. Kamandi's name is a play on the name of the shelter he grew up in: Command D. Thus my suspicions.

With Gaiman I have to abstain because I just haven't read enough of his work. I've never read a single issue of Sandman
Kirby, yes of course. I've been into his work since I was very young and have been working my way through his 70s stuff for the better part of two years (I had only read Fourth World previously). I dont care if he's not your cup of tea, I'm indifferent to plenty of creators that others love myself

Both would be in the pool of creators I consider top tier that would populate my top 10, but if I was actually formulating a top 10 list from that pool I am not sure both would crack the actual top 10 (the top 7 is pretty firmly set in my mind and there would be a lot of candidates for the last 3 spots), but top 20 definitely. At a different tie in my life they both would have been shoo ins...

I think the only thing I've read of Gaiman is Sandman. Overall I remember liking it. I was getting the TPB from the library at the time. But I think it went on too long for my taste and I started to get disinterested in it even though I did finish it. But damn did that story start out amazing. However in Gaiman's defense as to my disinterest towards the also had a lot to with the art that I did not personally like, and the (at the time it seemed) constant changing of artists towards the end. I personally would have loved Mike Dringenberg to do all the art. I mean even to start out he made Sam Keith's art pleasing to my eyes.
I'm among the people that appreciate, much like Stan Lee, what they did for the comic industry more so than their individual work. Though I do think Kirby's art style is perfect for Thor and he still draws the best Mangog I've ever seen.
So that would be a no vote on both counts for me.

Today I’m coming for some slots. Today we talking kings. The Dream King and… well… just the King of Kings. Today I’m asking if Neil Gaiman or Jack Kirby are on your lists. Kirby. He was there at the beginning, is here now, and will be here forever.

Kirby is a tentative yes (may change as we get further in), Gaiman a no.

Frank Miller would not be in my top ten (but I think I would have a very weird top ten, so it is no disrespect to any creator that is not on it haha), but I love his art on Sin City. I still need to read his Daredevil.
Neil Gaiman would not be in my top ten either. I like some of his writing, but there are just so many creators out there that are more my style. I do appreciate his endorsements of Gene Wolfe (one of my favorite writers), though.
Jack Kirby would make my top ten...well, it depends on the scope of these creators. If it includes manga creators, I am not sure (but even if not on my top ten, he would always be close). He is one of my favorite superhero comic creators. I love the Fourth World stuff, The Demon, Kamandi, and Fantastic Four. He has a great output.

Kirby - Balancing on the scales; at his best ( The Fantastic Four, Challengers of the Unknown, Captain America from Tales of Suspense and the transition to Captain America, and New Gods) he would easily rank in my top ten. That said, the rest of his work--specifically his other Bronze Age - forward work left so much to be desired, his skills as an illustrator declined in a significant way not seen in his contemporaries in the same era (Romita, Buscema, Cardy, Kane, Alcala, Orlando, et al.), he dipped into the "galactic meaning / question / epic" pool too many times, and how many blonde male heroes can one create? So for me, Kirby is performing a balancing act on the scales.

With Gaiman I have to abstain because I just haven't read enough of his work. I've never read a single issue of Sandman. Seriously? I haven't done a re-read in a while, but the last time I read it from beginning to end, I thought it was easily one of the top 5 comics ever. Oddly, I never read much of the spinoff stuff.

I considered starting it 20 years ago or so, but I remember flipping through the first trade, not really liking the art, and leaving it at that. I'll admit, a lot of the 90s pre-Vertigo/Vertigo books are a blindspot. Moore's Swamp Thing is one of my all-time faves, and I read most of Morrison's Doom Patrol and Animal Man back in the day, but that's about it. And actually I have read one issue of Sandman. A few weeks ago I read issue 54(?) because it is part of the Prez trade collecting the 70s series and the characters subsequent appearances

Most of the spin-offs are generally forgettable. Some are better, some are pretty dire. But Lucifer is a worthy successor and well worth a read.

The Dreaming was good at the start, when the stories were more varied, but later it became the Matthew and Corinthian show and I started to lose interest.
I did love the Bast miniseries.
