I thought about his after reading the Death of Captain Marvel recently. One page has the great minds, Tony Stark, Beast, Hank Pym talking about how to cure Mar-Vell and right there along with them is Wonder-Man and Thor. Now I have never thought either of them as a great brains and this made me make this poll.

I feel the inherent flaw with your poll options is the fact each has been written as very intelligent on occasion, but not consistently, which disqualifies them.

I will have to think a little about my choice, but one thing that immediately jumps out at me is "high intelligence" is not always overall "smart". Wisdom (which does not always go hand in hand with being a high IQ and highly schooled/trained scientist), along with "street smarts" are considerations for me as well as I ponder this.
But of those named choices, Cap is jumping out at me a bit. More than just a really good guy, he is often portrayed with a keen ability to think through things.

Reflected on it a little more, I'm going to go "other” and pick Storm. I think she exemplifies the qualities I mentioned.
This is a fun question, definitely made me think.

Your thinking here (even though you changed your mind in a follow-up opst) echoes my own so my vote is for the estimable Mr. Rogers (Steve, not Fred).

How about this guy? I mean, his name is Supreme Intelligence, after all.

Fury is a pretty smart cookie and certainly a top tactical thinker. Also second (or third) Cap. Cyclops had been shown to be a pretty smart cookie, before he was turned into a sap, manipulated by everyone in a skirt.

I voted "Other" for Peter Parker. Does he count? He was a science student, sure, but not an actual scientist (well, not until much, much later when he worked at Horizon and subsequently was the head of Parker Industries). For the first 50 odd years of his adventures though he was a student, photographer and latterly teacher, who nonetheless used his knowledge of chemistry, engineering, and physics to defeat many foes, and of course to invent web fluid and web-shooters.

This is not an easy question, but I'm thinking Hawkeye or Batman. They think on their feet and find unconventional ways out of situations.

Maybe Icctrombone meant the Shroud. Or Moon Knight. Or Nighthawk.
