I mentioned in another thread I went to an antique mall just outside of town today and picked up some comics. Almost everything was in the $1 to $3 range, but a couple were $4 and one (a red dress cover) was $9. So I added three red dress covers to the collection, one was a double dip as it was a Kubert cover Our Army at War issue... Is there something special about red dress covers or it's just something you enjoy and collect?

I explain it a little more in this thread: Devil With a Red Dress On. It's really just a whim inspired by some covers I saw and really liked and then started noticing how many red dress covers there were. -M

Just checked your thread and you are right, that Will Eisner cover is beautiful!

I got a couple of nice batches of Arak, Son of Thunder on ebay. I'm pretty close to closing out the run.

I like Arak. It's a bit of a Conan rip-off, sure, but it's well done, with some Charlemagne legend stuff thrown in and some middle age history.

My latest acquisition: JOYAS DE LA MITOLOGIAall 522 issues on 3-DVD set! Yes, I know it's absurd, since I can't read Spanish, but I keep seeing issues of this series, it got me fascinated, and this seemed a good way to go, instead of just buying one random issue to have a sample. It was so CHEAP (about $12.00) plus I didn't have to worry about storage space. The files come as CBR files, which I can extract onto my hard drive with the 7-ZIP program... but, reading the included instructions suggested I try getting the GonVisor program, designed specifically for reading CBR files. It's free, I downloaded & installed it, and gave it a try. YES, this is BETTER than extracting the files. Easier to view in a variety of ways, and I don't have tie up hard drive space! The actual scans are of WILDLY variable quality... but, hey, for what it is, can't really complain.

I have one or two comics in Spanish, an several comics (Spidey, Tarzan, Hulk) in French. Really makes me wish I could read those languages. Well, I can manage a little bit in Spanish, but I'm totally lost with the French, which is a shame because I'd love to be able to read those comics.

Today I went through the cattle call of Covid vaccine phase one... I celebrated by visiting a shop that I haven't been to in about 6 months-- not because of Covid, but because it's just a bit out of the way for me.
Came away with some offbeat oddballs-- no real keys here, just fun stuff filling holes and taking down my insurmountable want list by just a few more pegs. All in all, a good day.
Best find of the day was a Fine copy of Kirby's "Spirit World" magazine, complete with the un-attached poster inside! priced at $12, I had to look twice to make sure I was reading the tag correctly-- that's about 1/4 of the going price for a decent copy with the poster. Now to find its sister mag, "In the Days of the Mob"... Next, a couple of nice issues of Tower's Dynamo-- now I only need #3 to complete the run (pardon the picture, I was overzealous in cropping the left side-- the books are actually well centered and intact). Also another issue of MLJ's Fly Man, and a random issue of Charlton's "Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds." Shout out to @mrp , Dynamo #4 is another red dress cover for you to put on your list! Here's a nice group of more of those wacky MLJ super-hero titles-- 3 issues of Mighty Crusaders; I'm about halfway there on completing this series. Icing on the cake is a super-nice copy of Batman #199. Second-favorite find of the day-- Ditko madness with Blue Beetle #2 and #3. I already have #4 & #5, so all I need now is the somewhat pricey #1 issue. Also, the last Lois Lane and Superman issues that I needed to have the 25-cent 71-72 run for each title. Last up are a couple of nice crime titles, The perennial favorite, Lev Gleason's "Crime Does Not Pay", with the obligatory Charles Biro cover, and a much rarer find, an issue of Charlton's "Racket Squad". The last two issues, Starstruck #2 and Vanity #2 were bargain bin finds at 50 cents each. That's the last issue I needed in the Epic Starstruck run, and the Vanity book is not really in high demand, but is scarce as Hen's teeth, as it was released shortly before Pacific Comics bit the dust.

Nice books Tphantom. Maybe they couldn’t move that Kirby mag, thus that amazing price.

I usually relax my finicky high-grade demand for books from the 1950s. So one that looks like this will come to mummy and get a nice new home.
