+1 for Golden Age - Archie #74 May/June 1955
I love how this cover, almost 70 years old, has retained its gloss and colours. It looks perfect at first glance but has a small tear that's difficult to spot, and which I didn't fret about because it still has great eye-appeal.

I have all the dollar covers but was missing some of the 50c covers in the 170s range....this filled 4 spots nicely. These are all around 9.0.

Spot the error on these 2 digests. Both are #1s and they were released in 1979 and 1982 respectively, but amazingly, the 1982 digest repeated the same error.

Free comic book day was very good to us. One of our local shops does semi-annual sales where they mark down their entire constantly rotating inventory of back issues 50%, and I'm always happy to drop some cash when they do so! FCBD was no exception. Three of these were books I've been wanting for a very long while (1st Batlash, the DC special all-girls issue, Byrne's She-Hulk #1) and the rest were just very fun impulse buys!  |
