Bolland and Bendis are great. Only 10 spots on my list and I’m old.

Day Thirteen ChoicesBrian Bolland, Brian K Vaughan, Brian Michael Bendis, Bryan Talbot, Brian Azzarello. None of the above.
Cei-U! I summon the empty slate!
Yer killin' me, Kurt. I know Trevor 's pulling these names from another board, but they reinforce the idea that there was nothing worthwhile going on in comics before 1975.

Bolland is a very good cover artist and I've liked the interiors I've seen but he's not someone whose work I intentionally seek out. Solid tier 2 talent in my book.
I dig a lot of what BKV does. Y the Last Man, Dr. Strange: The Oath, Saga, Paper Girls, Ex Machina, Private Eye all have a place in my library. But he has a lot of tics as a writer that can wear on you after a while, and that keeps him out of my top tier. Solid tier 2 guy on the fringes of top tier, but nowhere near my top 10.
Bendis-I really like a lot of Bendis creator-owned stuff, especially early in his career. AKA Goldfish, Torso, Powers, etc. are all fantastic. His work-for-hire stuff however is all over the place, from very good (Daredevil, Ultimate Spider-Man) to downright terrible (Avengers Disassembled) and everywhere in between. These days I have little interest in any new work-for-hire stuff but I still find his creator-owned stuff interesting. No on top 10, but like BKV, solid tier 2 guy that flirts with top tier at times.
Talbot-Luther Arkwright and Tale of One Bad Rat alone are enough to put him on my radar. Both are phenomenal. I also really dig his work with Gaiman on Sandman. I haven't seem much else but I keep meaning to check out his Grandville stuff but haven't gotten around to it yet. Another fringe top tier guy but no to top 10.
Azarello. Writes genre stuff I should like based on my tastes, but I've never been able to get through anything he has written. I've tried 100 Bullets on too many occasions now and can never get more than 10-15 issues on it before Azarello's authorial voice begins to grate on me. I dislike his Wonder Woman on so many levels as well (though Cliff Chiang's art on it is wonderful). He's pretty much worked his way onto my don't even bother checking it out you won't like it list. Which is a shame, because he does stuff I should be interested in and want to like. I just don't.

Day Thirteen ChoicesBrian Bolland, Brian K Vaughan, Brian Michael Bendis, Bryan Talbot, Brian Azzarello. That Brian guy Jim Rugg says exists and writes his comics? Yup it’s all about Brian. Or is it? Do any of these Brian’s make your list or is it a sad day like Brian’s Song. Are you all going to add yet another person who doesn’t draw to your list? Does Bendis’ decade of dominance get him in? Are Saga, Paper Girls, Y the Last Man, Ex Machina, and Runaways enough for someone to choose BKV? I don't care for Bendis any more, although I did enjoy him at one time. Bolland hasn't done enough full comic work (mostly covers) to be considered. The others I've enjoyed but not top 10 for me.

Brian Bolland: Like his art, but not enough for Top10. Brian K Vaughan: Really like Saga, but am OK to ambivalent on his previous works. Brian Michael Bendis: Like some of his work, but not all. Bryan Talbot: Like his artwork, but just haven't read enough by him. Brian Azzarello: Like Wonder Woman, didn't like 100 bullets or Hellblazer.
Bonus Brians not mentioned: Brian Wood: Really like some of his work, but also dislike other works by him. Brian Augustyne: Didn't like what I've read by him. Brian Stelfreeze: Good art, nut good enough for Top10.

Brian Bolland — An amazing artist, absolutely amazing. But I don't have an emotional connection to his work. Brian K. Vaughan — Haven't read any of his work. Brian Michael Bendis — It took him seven issues to tell a story Lee & Ditko were able to tell in one, and not for the better. Seriously, @#$% this guy. Bryan Talbot — Haven't read any of his work. Brian Azzarello — No.

Day Thirteen Response and Wrap—Up
I think all of mine so far have been writer/artists (Moore barely qualifies there). So as much as I love BKV’s writing, he’s a pass for now. And while I enjoyed Bendis’ early art and most of his writing to some degree, he’s maybe top 75 at best. Azzarello is yet another where I like what I’ve read of his, but haven’t fully dived into any of his long acclaimed runs yet.
Bolland would probably be in if it was just for art. Love Talbot’s art, and I have several of his full creator works in my queue, but haven’t read enough of it to rate him too high.
No Bri(y)ans for me.
My list so far: Frank Miller Jack Kirby Carl Barks Alan Moore Mike Mignola Jeff Lemire

Day Fourteen Choices[/u]
It’s Strip Sunday! And bonus Alan time too.
Are Charles Schulz or Milton Caniff on your list? How about Alan Davis or Alan Grant? Did you pass on Alan Moore? Are you a closet big Al Gordon, Alan Brennert, or Alan Kupperberg fan?

Back on the prior day, Bolland made one of my lists because Camelot 3000 hit at just the right time for me as a kid and was one of my gateways into other types of comic books beyond traditional super-hero. Would have loved more interior work, but always found it a treat when he did. The Batman: Black and White story he did was killer as well. His take on that "smooth line aesthetic" has always really hit me the right way and elevates his overall standing with me.
Bendis I liked a bit earlier on, his attempted "cool" character dialogue was always kind of funny to me (in a truly entertaining way), but I think his weakness was around plotting and keeping running storylines interesting (for instance the prison breakout at the start of New Avengers could have set up some interesting ongoing stories, but it fizzled fast) . There was a time when I was reading Jonathan Hickman's Fantastic Four which had some really great story ideas but exceedingly flat character dialogue, and I wished I could combine Hickman's ideas with Bendis' dialogue (though this was before Hickman's current X-Men run which I find abysmal, but I digress).
For today's list, I'm not considering cartoonists. Comic books and newspapers are not the same medium to me.
Alan Kupperberg is well represented in the era and titles I most grew up reading, and while he doesn't make a top 10 list for me, always happy to see the more classic creators on here. I'm just not really much into the later post-80's creators that have been listed here overall to be honest.
But one shout out I do want to give is for Alan Davis' FF: The End story from 2006/2007. If you want the true capstone to classic era FF, this was I think one of the best FF stories ever written. He doesn't make a top 10 list for me as a creator, but I think very talented and actually has some love for the characters he writes which in modern era comics is all too refreshing.
