We got our first accumulating snowfall yesterday into today, about 2-3 inches of snow locally. It barely broke 30 today after it stopped snowing, so it's all still here. We're supposed to creep up t near 40 in the next few days, so I expect it will all melt soon, but right now it looks like winter out there.

Yep, after a few days, nights really, of frosty weather with temps in the mid- to high twenties, it started snow this morning. At first it was just a few flakes fluttering in the breeze, after only about 2 hours, we've got a nice blanket: This is the first real snow we've had in quite a while. Last winter was pretty mild, and only really kicked in on the day after that f-in' earthquake in late March - when it also snowed (kind like insult to injury, when a bunch of people were sleeping in their cars). This time winter seems to be following a more standard template. Guess I may even have to put the snow tires on the car...

After 91 days RAIN has finally come here to Phoenix! It has been a very dry year here and we lived up to our nickname The Valley of the Sun. Thunder struck near 11pm and it has been light on/off drizzles all night. I will actually be driving into work with wet roads while having my car washed for free thanks to Mother Nature. Yaaaaaaay

It's been a warm & wet winter so far. We've had temperatures dip below freezing but not below 30. Yesterday's sunset was after 5pm for the first time since November 1. The first crocuses and snowdrops are blooming, so spring is definitely on the way.

Restaurants were just okayed to reopen for limited dining here in Chicago...and three days later, we're battening down for a major winter storm, with 4-10 inches of snow currently forecast. What can you do?

We've had snow or a wintry mix 6 of the last 10 days, and the extended forecast calls for snow in 9 of the next 15 days. After a couple of mild winters, we're getting our share this year, but it's nowhere near as bad as what my mom is getting back east. We're getting 1-3 inches a pop, she's getting 8-12 inches a pop.

This is when I get the good weather. After the cold rain 2 weeks ago it was high 60's last week and since Saturday into the mid 70's which is supposed to last the next 3 weeks. To (mis)quote Game of Thrones: Summer is coming....

Hit 99 today when they predicted 95. Saying same for tomorrow then down to mid 90's for Monday with low 90's rest of week/weekend.

Cripes. After a few weeks of pretty typical early spring weather, i.e., warmish sunny days, cool nights, all the flowers and fruits in bloom, some clouds rolled in early this morning a dumped a bunch of wet lumpy snow all over us... ...all that's missing is another earthquake to make spring 2020 all over again...

Been above 90's since last week until drop to mid 80's yesterday due to storm blowing through northern Arizona. By middle of next week back into high 90's with possibly hitting triple digits. Summer is around the corner...

We're 20 degrees warmer than normal and way too dry. This week the temps might hit 80 for the first time this year.
