Scott, how do you come up with topics and guests? Do you pick the topic or the guest first? Do you ptich prospective guests on an episode idea or do they pitch something to you? Or does it differ from episode to episode? Usually I approach a guest and ask if they want to be on the show. If so, we'll try to figure out a series or run that we both want to talk about. ON occasion, we've picked something that I haven't read, but usually it's something we're both already familiar with. There are a couple people I have suggested a specific topic for based on their activity on the forums. But in general it's easier to ask the guest what they want to talk about and then do the reading myself if necessary, rather than ask someone to read something I want to talk about. I have a couple specific topics I want to discuss but so far I haven't found anyone who has read the comics in question, so I'm not sure they will ever happen - or I might do them solo at some point. Why not post your specific topics (and other open possible's) here CB to see if anyone may be interested?

If I remember correctly, CB contacted me about doing a podcast and I offered up possible subjects. We talked about the fall of Hank Pym but I also brought up the Celestial saga that was told in Thor # 283-301.

CB and I have read precious few of the same runs, so when he asked me, pretty much all we had in common was Life with Archie: The Married Life.

Well the one I really want to do involves reading both Gunhawks and Combat Kelly and his Deadly Dozen. So far I haven't found anyone else who has both series.

Gunhawks is an elusive and difficult series to collect. I have never found any copies here around Phoenix or listed on MyComicshop.com. Only 7 issues, likely with very limited copies out there and betting those few collectors who have the entire run are holding onto them hoping for big sales. With a $5 ceiling for used, I doubt for ever finding ANY of the Gunhawks for myself😡

It did take me many years, though, and we have a lot of comic book stores and shows in my area, so there was a lot of opportunity to look for them. And, let's say condition was not my primary goal, some of these are really beat. I did get the last issue from Mycomicshop, just a matter of dumb luck at the right time. The last couple issues definitely felt the hardest to find.

CB, this better be the Watchmen of the western genre for that price.

They are definitely out if the ordinary, though, and have some interesting and at times rather problematic content. Quentin Tarantino stole the basic premise and used it as the plot for Django Unchained, which may be where sone of the current interest lies, though I started putting my run together before that film came out.

I rescheduled the next episode for November 1. Hopefully by this weekend I will have cleared everything off my plate so I can finish editing it by Sunday. Thanks for your patience!
