Wow. You guys have done a TREMENDOUS job of keeping the forum lively in the last 24 hours. Was the old Classic Comics forum ever this bustling? Thanks to all of you who have gotten involved and ensured that this place takes off, especially those of you who copied over old threads, post by post.
What's been done today:
- Tweaked the look of the background to make it less disruptive and slightly less obvious for those posting from work
- The link for this forum has been communicated over and over on CBR. We're giving folks every opportunity to know we are here, and most of the folks we were looking for have managed to find us, though there are still a few who, I suspect, haven't logged in at CBR yet (maybe not realizing they need to re-register).
- Explored methods of transferring over old threads. Thus far, no easy answer is presenting itself, though I continue to look into this.
What I'll be working on next:
- Continuing to respond to suggestions at the Help Desk
- Continuing to explore more efficient ways of moving old threads over
- Continuing to check in at CBR and put the word out about where we are.
- Beginning to move over some of my other old threads, piece by piece, when I can find the time (I don't expect to get to this within the next 24 hours)
What YOU can do to help
1. Keep posting! I'm loving all this discussion.
2. If you have the time, go through the memberlist at the new CBR and see if there's anyone on there who should know about this place. PM them and ask if they want the link. You may want to check in on this thread to help us refine our list of missing classic comics posters to be on the lookout for.
3. I really feel out of my league trying to figure out how to move the old discussion threads here. Maybe it just isn't possible. But if you have any ideas (or know of someone who might), please chime in!
4. Did I mention I'm trying to save Life with Archie? Yeah, not Classic Comics forum related, but since I have your attention anyway... I seriously have Paul Kupperberg onboard with the idea. Please sign and pass around the petition: www.change.org/petitions/archie-comics-re-brand-life-with-archie-after-archie
Rock on, people!
