OUTSTANDING work, shaxper! I really like the new background; it's true that the previous one was a bit loud. Sincere thanks for all your efforts! I agree, I like the background much better this way. One other suggestion. The choices you can click on at the bottom of each page ("Click here to remove banner ads from this site" and the rest) are barely readable for me. It may be less of a problem for others, but I have some color blindness issues which may be contributing for me (also why I was turned down for the nuclear power program in the Navy, which is a story for another time). If it's ok for everyone else, you don't need to bother to change it just for me.

What is the definition of "classic" for the purposes of this forum? "More than two years" always seemed silly to me. The rule for the Christmas countdown threads, ten years, strikes me as eminently more sensible. How about no rules (other than civility and common courtesy) and we just talk about whatever the heck we feel like? Personally, I don't mind if someone wants to talk about comics that came out 70 years ago or yesterday. Or their favorite dog, or what kind of mood they're in today, or what they just found in their belly button. Ok, maybe not the last one...

Can you imagine an all-positive thread about Greg Land? "He traces well". " I really like seeing my favorite porn actresses as comic book characters."

" I really like seeing my favorite porn actresses as comic book characters." "The familiarity of seeing the same faces and poses over and over gives me a certain sense of comfort."

Though, if it's been in someone's belly button for 75 years, I doubt it's in mint condition. In that case slabbing may be necessary just because of the smell....

They revamped the Classic Board again on CBR. What do you guys think now? Not really impressed. As someone else said, it was too little too late, and felt like they did it just to shut people up.

Not to mention that since we don't have Big Brother breathing down our necks any longer, we can finally start that "Hunk's of the Classic Comics Forum Pic Thread" thread that we've all been wanting. Seconded!!! (And thirded )

Since our common interest is old comics, most discussions are likely to be on that topic anyway. If a few people want to discuss the relative merits of The Eagles as well, more power to them!

Once again I am up way past my bedtime (need to wake up in 6 hours) just trying to keep up with all the new posts on this board.
At first, I thought it was new and I could read everything, but that is proving ambitious.

Astonishing that there is a thread over there devoted to THANKING them for the forum! I posted a few loud posts over there protesting and calling for reinstatement, and I was pleased to see a new forum more-or-less replacing the old one, but thanking CBR for grievous insult followed by some damage control? Uh-uh, not from me.

They guys that frequented the gigantic thread where people moon over Omnibus releases are the ones doing the thanking, they went from having a single thread to a whole board.

Maybe that is what works now on the forums. "Thank you CBR" "Thank you again CBR..." There isn't room in the CBR Universe for my "No Thank You CBR" .

If it's ok for everyone else, you don't need to bother to change it just for me. That information is just inviting you to pay money to eliminate ads for a brief period of time. If ads become disruptive, I may look at putting up the funds myself. Until then, it's really not pertinent to us.
