They revamped the Classic Board again on CBR. What do you guys think now?

As long as the forum background never spotlights any Frank Robbins art, I'm staying put. (I don't ACTUALLY hate Frank Robbins art...I'm just trying to fit in...)

Frankly, as long as they enforce the "no nonsense posts" and "no negative posts", CBR can do whatever it wants and do it without me.
I mean, if Scott Lobdell again decides to sexually harass a female creator, how are you going to discuss that without being somewhat negative?

The problem with "no negative posts" is that I've seen plenty of constructive, polite, criticism get labeled as being "negative" by certain creators that simply can't handle critiques of any kind. In fact, I've noticed a pattern on Tom Brevoort's tumblr in that he often gets pissy when confronted with legit criticism, but loves to post comments by abrasive idiots spouting hate and death-threads.

Can you imagine an all-positive thread about Greg Land? In his case, how do you criticize the art without letting slip out he is a bit lazy and not too particular about intellectual property?

I've long thought that the tolerance for criticism has declined decade by decade in comics. In some of the older letter pages, I've seen them print a majority of negative letters when a particularly controversial issue had fandom buzzing. I suspect this has something to do with the fan-turned-pro mentality.

Heck, sometimes some of those negative letters writers ended up becoming editors!

I have so many friends who don't read comics but did as kids, who have all kinds of questions about Life With Archie.
It's a pull back into comics for many.

I signed the Archie petition...I agree with how important Life with Archie is to the comic book medium..I can honestly say I only read an issue or two, but it was something my ex's daughter got into, thanks to me introducing her to the classics... Thanks much!

I suspect this has something to do with the fan-turned-pro mentality. Society in general is becoming the opposite of tolerant. Freedom of speech in the US is on life support. everyone is a Narc now that the Smart phone is a common accessory. Add to that the passion that drives comic book fandom, and you'll get what you got in CBR.

I couldn't believe some of the stuff he would respond to really funny though.

Not to mention that since we don't have Big Brother breathing down our necks any longer, we can finally start that "Hunk's of the Classic Comics Forum Pic Thread" thread that we've all been wanting.
