The forums seem to still be there. I hope Greg Hatcher's columns are archived somewhere.
Maybe Greg will join us here.

Mein gott that's horrible! The Newsarama-isation of CBR is complete - the site is now actively repelling me

With their change in format it is officially blocked from viewing through my work computer system due to "content" same as Newsarama. No great loss as i would only glance through them each Friday for highlights of news and the monthly Marvel/DC coming attractions.

To quote an old Big Bang Theory - "it's like a 12 year old girl's MySpace page"

The pipeline column has surfaced in its own site at www.pipelinecomics.com/. There's a good article on there about the CBR redesign and how they've de-emphasised comics and gone after the TV & movie spinoffs to look for a larger market

He'll have a new one up this weekend. His stuff will go on the front page under "comic news". It will be your job to find it amidst 100 articles about film since the "search" doesn't yet do much.

The thing is, if CBR is going to do the same thing as Newsarama, what's the point of CBR?
I figure if/when CBR's traffic declines they'll just fold whatever's still viable into Newsarama...
Also, the mods (particularly Conn Seanery) are giving the posters the "adapt or don't" speech. Definitely sounds like the forums will be on their way out before the end of the year if past patterns hold up, and nobody at CBR is gonna miss it.

I can put that in my bookmarks where Comic Book Resources used to be.

I went looking for the comments and discovered you needed Facebook to post them. I wouldn't be able to comment even if I wanted to do so. I guess they won't be needing forums any more. Why pay money for feedback from dinosaurs and trolls?

I used to have it set so CBR would e-mail me their news headlines, that way I could keep up with what was happening without going ot the site itself and have to deal with the intrusive ads, only going to an article I absolutely wanted to read. Since the changeover, they have stopped the e-mail updates, so I have zero reason to ever go to the site now. Not that I went often, maybe 1 e-mail in a hundred had something I wanted to know more about, but that was more than I will go there now.

CBR has been dead to me since they axed the Classics board. I don't care to watch its zombie stumbling around.
Cei-U! And I won't have to as long as Greg posts a link to his column on Facebook!

That doesn't surprise me as I lurked there at the start and I've seen posts edited or deleted when details of the forum's fall and reset are mentioned. I guess it truly will be doomed to repeat the past if nothing is learned from mistakes made.
