I'll pick it up. Miller's not scripting, so it may be good...or at least sane. Imagine if readers from the 80s heard some one saying that...

Imagine if readers from the 80s heard some one saying that... They're lucky - leave them to their innocence: they haven't had to read Holy Terror or DKSA.

After the events of tonight, I guess I might find more interest in reading it then before

Nothing I was hungering for and can't say I want it or need it or think anything about it sounds great, but I can't say I won't check it out.

I actually didn't mind ASBAR - I think Miller had his tongue firmly in his cheek when he wrote that, but HT and DKSA are just crap.

I loved DKSA, it was wild.
In other news Miller has said that he had so much fun on DK3 that he's been inspired to do a 4th, though I suppose whether or not that materializes will depend on how well 3 does.

I can't imagine DC will not publish a Frank Miller Batman comic. (Well, except for Holy Terror. And damn good call on DC's part, there!)

Funny, I just read an interview with Frank yesterday where it sounded like he had minimal involvement and it was mostly Azzarello, with Frank wanting to come back to do more himself with the fourth story.

That could be true. That's just how it came off to me.

The first issue wasn't bad. It's too bad Miller couldn't do art for the whole series, because his and Janson's art in the mini comic is really good.

Yes? yay!!! It's already sitting in a box waiting for me at my LCS, but probably won't be able to get it until februuary now... :/ What did you think of the story and narrative techniques, anything worthy of discussion?

I thought it was good. The Millar excess of Strikes Again wasn't there. It has the Millar tv narration, with more modern texting/chatgroup narration added, plus internal narration from several characters. More importantly, I got the sense that Millar was treating characters other than Batman with respect.
