It is not the only homage DC has done to that image: Technically, this one was a homage to the Purple Rain movie poster, but the album cover and the film poster used the same image.

I can't believe I didn't post this earlier (unless I missed it in my quick thread review), but this is my nominee for the truly worst comic book cover of all time:

And I hate the character. I laughed. Sorry.

That subtitle should be "The Weird Living".

is that Kevin O'neill ? if so, I don't mind it, because i do enjoy his style (tho it works better on "Marshall Law" than it does here).
whoever is inking him is doing no favors there tho, as the similar line weights in the main figure is very "scratchy" and unflattering.

But if it's not Kevin O'Neill, you do mind it?

But if it's not Kevin O'Neill, you do mind it? O'Neill has a specific style, which I can excuse (similar to those that don't mind a Liefeld cover, since ..it's Liefeld and they like it). if it's NOT O'Neill? then someone is doing a crappy imitation job

I love Kevin O'Neill. And yes, it is him. I own all the Marshal Law. I like a bunch of the The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. But thats just a bad cover.

O'Neill inked his own pencils.

Pretty sure that cover's meant to be an homage to the front cover of Prince's Purple Rain album, with pink replacing purple... It May an homage but it’s not a good homage. And people rag on McFarlane and Liefield. And it’s not the pink it’s that looks like some kind awful dominatrix Alfred. Okay some of it’s the pink too.

As much as I love ol’ Spidey, this comic cover has always looked amazingly wrong since I first saw it over 35 years ago.
