Worst Fantastic Four Cover of All-TimeFantastic Four #375 Certainly one of the worst, and during one of the most creatively bankrupt periods in Marvel's history, where they were still caught in the influence of a certain generation of "artists" who thought James Cameron movies (and other loud dreck from the previous decade) was "wild," "awesome!" and "eXtreme!" That's why the Fantastic Four--once one of the prizes of Marvel--had been reduced to members carrying knock-off pulse rifles from Aliens. |

 Honestly, there is so much wrong with this cover, its hard to know where to start. Samson's blind staring eyes? The oversized head? His stunted torso? Whatever is going on with the arm that is clutching the bar? The woman's ludicrously long arms? |

The entire 70's Shazam run. How did that title ever appeal to people? The fact that they had two photo covers in the first 6 issues was terrible. Especially this monstrosity. Is the kid in his lap coughing? Trying not to laugh at how terrible this comic is? Making fart sounds with his mouth? Trying not to throw up because Shazam has body odour? Whispering to the kids on the floor to run? Infinite possibilities with this bad infinity cover.  Not to mention that the kids on the floor are way bigger than Captain Marvel! It's so easy to do a photo cover when you don't really care how good it looks. |

I wonder whose kids they were? Jack Adler's? I know C.C. Beck wasn't entirely happy with DC on the comic but I figure he was just that kind of guy, and don't think he'd draw something badly on purpose. I'm thinking someone else (Adler?) added the photos to his drawing. I had #2, 3 and this one, #6, back in the day, and some others plus one of the treasuries further along, so the photos didn't scare me off!

When the book was coming out, I told my friend "Warriors of Plasm always reminds me of what it looks like when you unroll a Taco Bell burrito to put hot sauce in it." I guess the entire point to the series is that it's disgusting world that is populated by this oozy stuff. |

I don't remember the context of the guns but my complaint is that the actual cover was a gimmicky refracted mess, which made it painful on the eyes. |
