Speaking of thinking of the children, I am incredibly happy for my older daughter today. She was informed this morning that she got one of the female solos for the spring chorus concert, and her teacher had given her a perfect score on her audition. There are only three solos and more than 20 girls competing for them, including some who take private voice lessons, so this is a big deal for her. #DadBrag That's fantastic! My daughter is finally at the age where she is beginning to try out for such things, so I truly get the pride you're feeling right now.

The things we do posterity... Yeah, and what has posterity ever done for us? Or posteriors for that matter.

Yeah, and what has posterity ever done for us? Or posteriors for that matter. Actually, some posteriors do a lot for me.

I hope it's okay to say... I hope mecha-g is okay. No idea what personal issues he mentioned means. Good thoughts.

There's been a hell of a lot of Bigfoot documentaries on Blaze lately. Naturally, I watched them (I like the mystique of it all).
I really can't see how such a thing could remain hidden. Even if it was a solitary creature, in the same way a tiger is, we seem to be able to capture anything on video nowadays. Where is some decent footage of Bigfoot? This is not 1920, we have digital cameras now.
One documentary I watched mentioned the proliferation of "Bigfoot sightings" in areas of North America where black bears frequent. And, you know, I think that some people see what they want to see. Go out looking for "Bigfoot" and a glimpse of a black bear's fur may excite you enough to make you THINK you've seen it. I feel the same way about people who go looking for ghosts. They tend to "find them".
I don't necessarily want to dismiss everything. But I just can't imagine a creature still being hidden in 2019. But, hey, some claim they have seen it. And I can't really explain huge footprints. Is everything a hoax? Who knows? But I am skeptical.
I saw a few videos online. One supposedly caught Bigfoot noises on video, but they sounded like moose to me. Another guy claimed to have seen a gorilla in a state park, but when I watched portions of the video (at the points where you're supposed to see it), I saw nothing whatsoever resembling a gorilla.

There is a pretty good account of the origin of the Bigfoot legend in this book: Abominable science! That a wild creature could be shy enough not to be caught on video, even in this day and age, is not as far fetched as one might think; the olinguito, for example, hadn’t been identified until just a few years ago. In the case of Bigfoot, however, it is absolutely impossible that a native species of giant hominid would have survived for millions of years without leaving ONE piece of evidence. I mean, we find dinosaur bones, and they went extinct 65 million years ago... and we wouldn’t find one bone of a species still extant today? Not one corpse, not one tuft of fur? Not one piece of scat, not one tooth? Alas, I fear that the bigfoot, like the wendigo or werewolves, must remain a haunter of the forests we visit only in our dreams.

The latest Bigfoot news from the state of Washington: www.complex.com/life/2020/01/washington-traffic-agency-tweets-photo-possible-bigfoot"The Washington State Department of Transportation shared this latest 'picture' of the fabled-but-hopefully-real cryptid. That agency uploaded an image from a traffic camera that appears to show a squatch splotch. They also enhanced the image to make it look like it could be a humanoid creature walking upright, possibly even a human. Feel free to make your best guess."

Got a jury duty summons today. Deciding whether I can do it or try getting out of it for disability reasons which I did once before... I checked it out and they compensate you $20 (can.) per day plus parking or bus fare. That's if a trial runs 10 days or less. Somehow I think there is better compensation in the U.S., does anyone know roughly? I thought it'd at least be the minimum wage and am a bit shocked we might get as little as $2 an hour (and have to provide our own food costs though coffee and tea is supposedly provided). They make it very unappealing to your duty, and we recently had a horrible trial locally where people had to hear awful details about two little girls murdered Christmas eve.

But in Idaho it's $10/day plus mileage.
