Prince Hal"I am not permitted to interfere with whatever you may do, but pick out a little something for you and the wife, Reed."
Funniest line in months. You still got it.

Funniest line in months. You still got it. I just don’t use it as much... 😉

No I was referring to FF #101. Bedlam in the Baxter Building, the FF take on the Maggia. As for Annual 3, you chastise Kirby for a quickie resolution after he has figured out how to put almost every Marvel character into one story? Besides, the real ending is Jack and Stan being shown the door. And The Universal Nullifying in FF #50 was a brilliant resolution. I summon the ultimate game of chicken. So not only was Kirby reusing that old reliable ending, he was also recycling titles? (Yes, I know it was probably someone else's doing...) "Lo, There Shall Be A Repeat Title!"

Or "Lo, There Shall Come the Same Ending." What story had the first of those pseudo-Shakespearean/Biblical titles? I remember that there was a movie called "Let No Man Write My Epitaph" that came out in 1960; maybe Stan liked the cadence and the hint of monumental power in that title? 'Cause I don't think those kinds of titles were used ever before in comics, and certainly not with the frequency that they were at Marvel.

When I was a kid I thought "Lo!" as an exclamation would be used a lot more than it was.

"Which story has the bad guy win ?"
The first time the Composite Superman appeared, he won. Flat-out won. No ambiguity about it. The only thing that saved the heroes was that there was a time limit on the Composite Superman's powers, and he didn't know about it until it was too late.

'Cause I don't think those kinds of titles were used ever before in comics, and certainly not with the frequency that they were at Marvel. And thanks to Stan's use of those overly dramatic, pseudo-Shakespearean (dare I say slightly pretentious?) titles, they ended up becoming something of a Marvel trademark, which was being used long after Lee had stopped regularly writing comics for the company. For example, there's a 1977 Star Wars comic written by Roy Thomas titled, "Lo, Moons of Yavin!" and I bet there are later examples.

Half the fun of reading Shakespeare is finding Marvel references in the text. That William S. bloke really like Stan Lee's writing, looks like!

I love the titles and the way that Thor talked. Shakespeare dialect really goes well with the intense action of a toned immortal taking on a rock troll who's tribe has stolen his one true love that he just encountered in the previous issue

Burroughs, and thought "No, he's more of a Grant Morrison fan." (The way the text was formatted on my screen, the line ended at "William S." and the next line of text continued with "bloke" so it broke up the flow of the sentence. That, combined with the period after "William S," caused my mind to sort of auto-complete the name in the wrong way. Ok, done over-explaining now.)

Stan Lee definitely wrote better endings than that Bill Shakespeare dude though. Bad as "The Galactus Trilogy" is, it still has a more satisfying and logical ending than Othello! Or Romeo & Juliet. ((runs away before Prince Hal or shaxper can raise a lynch mob))
