well, it's just a great movie I guess, Atom Egoyan was great from the start but hit his peak right after with The Great Hereafter. And he most indeed had great soundtracks, often involving Michael Books or Jon Hassell, ambient luminaries often associated with Brian Eno. I remember being quite annoyed by Crash at first, but as I saw it in the theatre, I had to stay and focus, and it really grew on me throughout the projection, to hte point that by its end I thought t was an important movie. But I'm really a sucker for Cronenberg (M Butterfly probably being my favorite of his, along with the usual suspects that Videodrome and The Brood are - Dead Ringer hasn't aged well IMHO). Crash is me closing in on watching all Cronenberg's movies over the past 6 months or so, at least those available on Netflix. Spider is the only one left and it's availability is "unknown" so Crash is the last of many. A lot of people here are big fans of his movies and why I started to watch them all. However I can not say I am in the camp of being a fan of his movies. Most were neither good nor bad to me, and only a few; eXistance, Dead Ringers and Scanners; were movies I enjoyed.

eXistance is the best movie about video games ever! And Spider is hard to get into but reveals itself highly rewarding, the concept is amazing and the cinematography to die for, but it's one of his slow ones.

Got a new MODEM installed today and it's working just great. My old modem is obsolete and now my nephew made it easier to diagnose problems in the near future.

Smoking a really big pork loin. Put it in late...and it's taking longer than I expected...because of the size. Hopefully done in another half hour.

Got in from clearing now and ice from the cars. It was warm and raining yesterday, temps dropped about 25 degrees overnight so all the wet froze and the rain turned to snow. Not a lot of accumulation, but everything had a nice glaze of ice underneath it all. My wife's driver side car door froze shut because of it and the lock on her passenger side was frozen too, so I had to spend some time getting those to open before I could even start her car up and get it to warm up.
Hopefully the cars remain clear until morning when she has to go to work.
F*$k winter.

Spent all day in the studio. Finished two drawings, started the edition of one block print and proofed another. Now it's Netflix time.

Watching the Packers-Cardinals game and typing handouts for my classes that start this week coming up. The end of that game was epic. My wife, who usually hates football, was engrossed by that ending and couldn't stop watching. -M

Spent a couple of hours at the drawing board to get over the Steelers' loss. Now, time to put on some Netflix and pass out.
