Saw Big Hero 6 tonight with my six-year old. It was pretty decent, but I have a major complaint about the theater. The movie was scheduled to start at 7:20, but between the commercials, trailers, and pointless animated short beforehand, the feature didn't start until 7:50. You just can't do that for a movie aimed at little kids, because halfway through, a handful of them started getting really restless.
I'm now going to hide in my bedroom to.escape the six little girls in my living room.

I always assumed the half hour of previews were forced on theaters, and they had to list the start time as whenever they start them.

Did you catch the secret ending with the Stan Lee cameo? I hope there are more Big Hero 6 movies, as this is one family that can't get enough of them! |

Some guy has been bidding up old Chicano magazines to ridiculous prices. A magazine that would typically sell for $10 is currently selling for $300+. Pretty sure it's the result of shilling since this guy is the only one out there that wants them this bad, but he hasn't figured it out yet. So I listed a magazine with a $350 pricetag, and sure enough 12 hours later he's messaging me asking for interior pics. I wish I hadn't lost the rest of the ones I had as a kid. Paid $40 for this a couple years ago  |

Just finished the pencils on the first page of a 4 page prologue story I am doing for the studio. The story has been banging around in my head for a few years and I got tired of trying to find an artist to do it, so decided to bite the bullet and do it myself. I have been working on the page for a bit now (I scrapped two previous tries a few panels in) in between working on pages for the coloring book the studio is putting out early next year, trying to find my pencilling voice for the story and taking some input from a few studio mates and my lovely wife (who has no problem at all telling me when my stuff sucks! -art or writing so when she says it is starting to look ok, I believe her). Feels good to have a page done (don't even want to think about the inking or lettering yet) but now I am staring at a blank page for page 2 and looking at my script thinking I need to rework the panel structure from my initial idea when writing it...but first maybe some sleep would do me some good.
