Working my way through a tutorial on perspective on Deviantart, trying to improve one of the aspects of drawing I have a lot of difficulty with to try to save myself form a lot of erasing....

I'm off to see my brother in a few minutes to talk about the Holidays and couple of other pressing family issues and have a light dinner with him. His wife and her daughter in law are staying home getting the Thanksgiving Dinner ready so they don't have to do so much on Thursday.

Getting ready to watch the parades with my daughters and wife, after which we'll just hang out around the house for a while before heading over to my parents' for dinner with them and my sister.

I'm watching The Big Bird Cage in an attemp to see Pam Grier. Bonus, Sid Haig is in it too. It seems a good way to pass the time today.

Sitting down to the kitchen table with the wife and daughters to start making gingerbread houses for the holidays.
It was my wife's idea to start a new holiday tradition.

I feel like I'm doing the opposite of everything I've said I'd do regarding Black Friday. About to go to the mall. Ugh.

Just got back from my parents' house and had to shower immediately, as my dad is a hardcore indoor smoker and I hate marinating in that stink for one second longer than I have to once I get to my house.
The visit was pleasant, as we celebrated both the holiday and my older daughter's birthday. There were no fights at dinner, which is unusual, but it's because my dad was mostly sober this year and he didn't make any derogatory comments about women, gays, blacks, or liberals, which always sets off my sister, a socially-liberal atheist, and my wife and me, as we believe that one of the two most important lessons in the Bible is to "love our neighbors" and who are trying to raise our daughters to have no prejudice.
Now I'm planning out a trip to a couple LCS tomorrow morning; one has 60% off all back issues before 10 AM, but their selection is pretty limited, while the other has 30% off their fabulous selection of all back issues after 10 AM and $.33 comics from the $1 boxes all day long. Just have to get to the grocery store to pick up some snack food and birthday cake for my daughter's sleepover tomorrow night, but I should be able to work around that and make it to both places (they're about 20-25 minutes apart).

My dad hates coming to our house for Christmas (or any event), because he has to go out on our deck to smoke regardless of the weather. It's why my parents show up at the last minute possible and leave the minute everything is over, because heaven forbid he go a few hours without taking down a quarter pack of smokes. |

Just finished burning CDs to give as party favors for my daughter's birthday sleepover tonight, and then in a couple of hours, I will be taking my younger daughter to Chick-Fil-A for dinner (her choice, not mine) and then to the movie theater to see Big Hero 6, primarily so I can keep her out of the way of the 6 eight- and nine-year olds who will be infesting my house this evening.
