The Judgement Day Mini written by Alan Moore. I have it but I couldn't pass it by for 20 cents At that price I wouldn't have either; it's clear we live in different planets when it comes to comic-book shopping.

I suspect that these books are the vast overstock from the 90’s. And also to be fair, this shop is quite a drive away from me.

I found myself in Rhinebeck Ny in a comic shop called Megabrain Comics and Arcade. They had about 14 dollar comic boxes and I picked up 24 of them. When I got to the counter to pay, I found out they were discounted to 4/100. I have been binging on Image books , but they are so inexpensive , I figured I would keep splurging. More Youngblood books and yep, that's another # 2 first Prophet , Yes I know these books are sh#t, but .25 cents each.

A few Shadow Hawk books and the Jerry Ordway Wildstar series. I have the complete Wildstar mini now. I don't think I ever read Shogun Warriors. I was drawn to the Marie Severin cover and I don't have this Atlas book.

I was drawn to the Marie Severin cover and I don't have this Atlas book. The Kull cover was all John Severin pencils & inks according to the GCD; Marie did the colors. The story inside was plotted by John Jakes, who was best known at that time for his character Brak the Barbarian. A year or two later he had huge success with a series of historical novels. The Atlas book was one of the few to reach issue #4. Atlas was in real trouble by that point, and made some drastic changes in a desperate effort to generate sales. This book got a new title, "The Protector", a more superhero-ish look, and a new creative team, Gary Friedrich and Ric Estrada.

Nice pickups, Icctrombone! I have the complete run of Shogun Warriors. Then again, I was into the action figures, so I had that hook to pull me in.

The Atlas line is something I'm trying to collect on the cheap. There was talk about movie options on some of their characters and the books began to show up pricier. I refuse to pay more than 1 dollar for them.

Of course the ebay books are the pricier comics ,a few of them are SA Thor books.

Took this past Friday off to extend the weekend and because my current employer has a "use it or lose it" vacation day policy, so I have to burn through 9 days (now 8) between the beginning of September and the end of the year. Since it was a "free day" for me, I spent it at the closest "big" LCS, where I used a couple of hours to go through a few new boxes of Magic cards they put out, then a couple of hours to go through some of their dollar boxes (they have literally 200+ boxes of $1 stock just sitting around). First up, some more Amazing Adventures, putting me closer to having all of the Killraven stories (I think I only need 3 more now): First non-Jonah Hex issues of Weird Western Tales I've bought: And to wrap up the purchases, a pre-Crisis Flash issue (I'm slowly buying these, because I won't pay more than $3 for any of them) and two issues from a series I've never bought before but think I might start looking for (provided they're cheap):

We have different goals. I have a well stocked collection and these days, I only add reading material. I almost never buy comics to flip them.

We have different goals. I have a well stocked collection and these days, I only add reading material. I almost never buy comics to flip them. Amen my brudder! It's all about the reading! So, in a way I grabbed up some classic comics but in a new way. Stopped in to the local Brass Armadillo (part antique part swap meet) with a friend who was in search of a kitchen table and found me a comic treasure on DVD-ROM. For $8 each I bought 1 which was a 3 PACK with ALL the issues on individual discs of Eerie, Creepy and Vampirella. The other was a 2 disc package of ALL DC the Flash volume 1 of Barry Allen and volume 2 of Wally West. Great bargain to have all these to digitally read as they would be far too expensive for back issue collecting.

Years ago I bought a CD rom that had the golden age Daredevil. I Couldn't enjoy it because the quality was poor.

Years ago I bought a CD rom that had the golden age Daredevil. I Couldn't enjoy it because the quality was poor. Tha's the problem with digital. It will ONLY be as good as the comic being scanned while the quality of the scanner also affects. EVEN the person doing the scans can affect the scanning process. Seen scans where the center rolls up and not placed flat enough so the panels have a warped/stretching look to them. It's a flip of the coin since usually you have no way to "preview" what you buy. A quick look through the DVD-ROM's I bought shows mostly crisp clear scanning with only a bit of wear/tear seen on the covers or interior pages. But for $8 I am not going to be overly critical unless I come across any of the PDF's not opening or if many issues are poor scans. Will see as I read through...and hope for the best.
