Just got this today. I enjoyed the issues that I have so far , so I figured to complete the run. I have this! Yeah, I enjoyed it also.

Bought a copy of the Champions Classic vol. 1 TPB reprinting Champions #1-11. I have a tendency after finishing a big readthrough to look for related stuff. So after reading 3 TPBs of Black Widow content, this is what I went with.

Had a couple of outings over the past few weeks where I was able to pick up some things for the collection. First, from three weeks ago, all $1 books: Two more issues of this short-lived series that I started picking up just at the beginning of July: Some more issues of this on-again, off-again Bronze Age book: Five of the six issues of this prestige-format series: Some random books that caught my eye, although the Jonah Hex issues are something I'm actively collecting: Then, from this past Saturday, I went to one of my not-usual LCS and picked up these: Last two issues I needed to complete this series. Only two books in the series I paid more than $1 for: The big score was this Masterworks. I have the two S.H.I.E.L.D. Complete Collections, but these issues have only been reprinted in color in the hardcover format. Luckily, this was in the "Used" section, since it apparently has a little ding on the lower back cover, so insignificant that I didn't even notice it when I was looking at it, but they sold it to me at 50% of cover, so a $60 book became $30 for this awesome goodness:

The Golden Age Batman Omnibus vol. 4 arrived on my doorstep. That's 3 volumes I've purchased in short period of time before reading too much of it, so it's a bit of an impulse buy. But I've gotten all 3 with credit card rewards points, so I feel like I'm not spending anything.
Daredevil Epic Collection vol. 18: Fall From Grace is also in the mail. I did a binge read of Daredevil #147-300 a few years back, but had resolved to stop there (except perhaps to complete the Kesel run). I did want to tarnish things by spending money on questionable 90s content and then regretting the money I spent. But I think somewhere here praised Fall From Grace, and I saw that all of Daredevil #301 through the end of volume 1 will soon be covered by Epic Collection except a small gap where one TPB will fit in. So now, I feel like may direct points/gift cards towards those in the future if I like Fall From Grace.

In the second comic place which I usually frequent , I picked up more Bronze Age stuff. All of these one dollar but they are pretty beat up. They had the entire Final Night mini, So I pulled the trigger.

The reboot or 'sequel' as I guess the original series is technically still in continuity version of Prophet written by Brandon Graham is worth checking out. It's got all sorts of crazy going on and is more in style like something out of old Heavy Metal or 2000AD than 90s Image super hero comics. There are a few different artists that work on the title, but there is a boodle of crazy ideas in every issue and it all kinda ties together. I've read the first 4 trades a couple of times and the first couple a couple more than that. I swore I bought the last trade but have been unable to find it in my collection, but keep thinking I need to get it before it becomes scarce.
The recent Prophet definitely would not please everyone as it has some bonkers conceptions, but it is one of the more out there scifi comics I have read of relatively recent make. It is definitely influenced by Moebius and Druillet...if that is your kind of spaceship.

In the second comic place which I usually frequent , I picked up more Bronze Age stuff. All of these one dollar but they are pretty beat up. I love me some beaten up comics. I probably have 3-4 short boxes full of western, war, DC and Marvel superheroes from the 60's through the 70"s bought on the cheap. The dings, tears, rips and sundry aging reminds me that these were well loved and read many times over. I like a comic that wears it's love on the page and isn't afraid to show it!

This week's haul from the actual FB group auction (the big stack is form another dealer in the group, not part of the auction) Another classic EC reprint... This is the full 3 issue mini. I had #1 and 2, but I've been searching for #3 for a few years. I got the set for what I've seen #3 selling for by itself online, so I'll probably sell my extra copies of #1 and 2 to pay for the set itself... and then a few more full sets, a Mark Russell book I haven't tried and the last longeterm Rock story Kubert did that I know of... and just a couple random books cheap of more recent vintage... -M
