I got something out of character today. Total impulse purchase when someone listed this accidentally in the Romance category on ebay, at a nice discount from the current going rate. I'll put it behind spoilers so you can try to guess the book. I'm actually flabbergasted you picked it up. Too bad it wasn't a buck to add fodder for your dollar bin to Golden Age Key epic journey. -M

My jaw hit the floor... * edit- but it's really a smart business move to deny your feelings and just accept the reality that the book is a key book.

I don't remember where I got them, but... they're long gone now, unfortunately!

My jaw hit the floor... * edit- but it's really a smart business move to deny your feelings and just accept the reality that the book is a key book. I have to admit a dark secret, which is that I like Cable. There's also a bit of nostalgia involved for me, as this was one of the big hot books when I was in high school. I've owned at least two copies in the past but at some point got rid of them, so I figured I'd pick this up. The price was right, especially since I just sold off another book specifically to get money to buy some stuff.

I'd agree that Cable is a character who has potential and that I have a fondness for, though I am particularly fond of the short run of the Cable series that had Ladronn on art rather than the early Liefeld stuff. But of all the modern era X-characters, I like Cable the best (though that might be damning with faint praise). -M

I had never liked Cable, but he really worked well in the series where he was doing the Lone Wolf and Cub routine with Hope while Bishop chased them through time.. excellent series, that.

So latest batch of stuff from the FB auction group, it's $19 for this entire batch of books (all but one is classic, the one is modern and I admit is a bit of a spec book for me but the price was right to take a flyer on)... another reader copy from the Ghosts series... The origin of America Chavez (who will be in the Ms. Marvel Disney+ series I believe) I love that Darkseid cover and it was this offshoot from the Legends mini and the Legends mini that was my gateway into Kirby' Fourth World 1st app of the Wonder Twins in comics... I've owned and sold this book 4 or 5 times now, I like it but I keep getting prices for it I like better, maybe this time it stays with me. I have to see the book in person to verify the grade, but it looks nice and I got it for $5 and it is selling for much more than that sticker price now in high grade. This one might be trade fodder though. slowly replacing this run as I find it on the cheap... and finally, I can't resist Krypto covers, especially not for a buck... so $19 for the batch, which still has that Weird Wonder Tales issue from a few weeks back in it, nd I will be running at least another week before I have the books shipped, so we'll see what next week has to offer, likely in the preview of the auction posted tomorrow morning, but Jesse is actually doing a live show over in Indianapolis I believe, so it may not get posted until later in the day) -M

Action #598 also the first appearance of Checkmate... The DC budget version of S.H.I.E.L.D. Years ago I put together the complete Checkmate series. I believe it was 33 issues and only when I got them all did I start to read them. What a disappointment. They were really boring , I ended up giving them away, I believe.

Just as well my daughter is learning French so she can read this and understand it almost completely
Le Journal de Spider-Man is from France and reprints 4 stories in full-colour, making it about 80 pages thick.
