Galactus and Annihilus. The F.F. were Marvel's true sci-fi team, and aside from Doom's technical wizardry (and megalomania), their greatest foes--those who would pose a proper, larger-than-earth challenge for heroes essentially "born" in space--would be Galactus and Annihilus. I'm assuming people aren't picking Sub-Mariner because they don't see him as a villain. Probably. He's more of an anti-hero (sort of like early Hawkeye), and since he was a member of hero teams long before he resurfaced to face the F.F. (in-universe chronology, in any case), he can't be classified as a villain.

I went with the Frightful Four (Madame Medusa era)--loved their initial outings, their color-coordinated outfits, their squabbling. I found them far more entertaining than the good guys/FF!
And I also voted for the Puppet Master, because of his connection to Alicia, who's one of my favorite Marvel characters.

Terrax. Hes my all time favorite hearld. And Bryne used him well long before I discovered him Silver Surfer. What was the intergalactic hockey player villain? That was a fun story. Gaard?

I like the idea of the Frightful Four, but I feel like rarely have they lived up to their potential. The Wizard may not be Richards-level genius, but he should be much more formidable. Pete is treated as a joke most of the time. I think Carlos Pacheco tried to make him into something more (outside of the FF) and had him trap Annihilus, but I'm not sure how that developed. (I only bought a few issues from that period.)

I like that he postponed a team meeting once because he had to finish designing Medusa's costume. Priorities!

What he really wanted to be was... a FASHION WIZARD! Frustrated designer turns to villainy.

I went with Galactus because he's such a memorable villian, with a way cool costume, and I like that his motivations aren't actually evil: eating planets is just how he rolls. My second choice was Mole Man, partly because he was the first FF villain, but mostly because I love his whole "subterranean villain who wants to rule the surface world" motivation and his weird Moloid followers. Such a cool costume, indeed. Because nothing screams 'cosmic threat' like bare legs and a giant 'G' on your chest. Lucky that beings which predate the Big Bang use the Roman alphabet.

The "G" is a symbol from TAA, the was Superman's "S" is Kryptonian. And it was very hot in New York that day, so he went without leggings.

Galactus mostly worked from home and you could only see his top half on conference calls. He forgot about the pants that day since it had been awhile.

Am I the only one who, as a kid, read Annihilius' name as Annie-hillus?

Am I the only one who, as a kid, read Annihilius' name as Annie-hillus? As a kid, and possibly all the way until I finally heard it pronounced during the 90's animated series, I pronounced it "Ann-hill-us". I also still hold that it should be "Mag-net-oh", not "Mag-neat-oh", but that's a different topic.

While not a villain in the truest sense of the word, I have to go with Galactus. Such a cool character, visually and conceptually.
Also, Molecule Man. I don’t believe he’s ever been quite used to his full potential, but his powers are dangerous. Anyone who can control molecules is not to be taken lightly.
