I don't think moderation will be an issue here. I don't think we ever had any fights/problems on the old boards and since everyone here is on an invite basis, it should work out smoothly.

There were a few. I got my only ban from the Classics Board. Like Dan, I've clashed with Jezebel, until I started ignoring her. And I had no use at all for USArmyParatrooper, who was banned along with me. But they were very few and far between. CGC was the major cause of friction. |

I got a temp ban as I posted in Rita's FB there back in 2005/2006. Never had an issue with anyone . So I won't mind the moderation or posters who come in. My only request is...can someone bring over the Changes from DCU to Post Flashpoint thread I did ? I really enjoyed doing it and would love to keep it around.

I think a little cursing here and there is part of normal adult conversation. As long as it is not negative or directed at others, I would vote against strict anticursing enforcement. I don't think anyone mentioned "strict" enforcement of any kind. The rules thread clearly asks that people police themselves. The occasional curse word probably isn't an issue, but within 24 hours of this board going live, there were threads where every other post was dropping F bombs and such. That's not the kind of community we used to have, nor one I'd be particularly excited to be a part of. Some of you already know I'm a high school English teacher. I intend to show this board to some of my students from time to time, as I did with the old one. In fact, many of us often lament that the younger generation isn't seeking out old comics. If we're dropping F bombs all the time, it makes this place all the less inviting and appropriate for the very people we hope to reach. No "strict" enforcement, but please try to keep it appropriate. |

I agree... assuming we're not inviting little kids (which I don't think we are). @ SuperECWFan: I think you have the wrong idea about what Shax is going for. I believe trying to create a really good board to discuss classic comics. To that end, all are welcome. He's NOT trying to be the 'New CBR' or the 'Anti-CBR'. Frankly, I don't blame him for not wanting to host giant chat threads from people who are here JUST for that. It's great to have a forum to chat with like minded people, but you have to draw the line somewhere, or you have no real purpose to exist. (Shaxper or anyone else is free to contradict me if I'm wrong) |
