Spiritualized sounds pretty much like Spacemen 3's last album, Recurring, which is fine with me since that's my favourite of the three or four S3 cds I have. This one starts off with a really nice cover of Anyway That You Want Me, which has been done by several artists in the '60s (Evie Sands, The Troggs), but there's lots of other excellent tracks on this 2-cd collection. I'm a big fan of Spiritualized from way back. I bought their version of "Anyway That You Want Me" back when it came out in 1991 or so. I have all their albums from '91's Lazer Guided Melodies through to 2012's Sweet Heart Sweet Light, though I found that latter album and it's predecessor to be really patchy. My favourite era is from 1991 to 2001 or so, with Let It Come Down probably being their most satisfying album overall. Jason Pierce is a little bit of a genius in my book.

I have one other cd by them, Amazing Grace, but can't remember what it's like now, it's been so long since I've listened to it. It falls outside your peak period, I thnk. But I really like this Volume One thing. I'll have to look for more of their stuff.
I've never heard the other act that came out of Spacemen 3, Spectrum. I'm curious how that might have sounded too.

Daniel Lanois will never know that I have a debt of gratitude toward him, as his albums "Acadie" and "For the beauty of Wynona" were given to me by my late sister, decades ago. I am always reminded of her when listening to them, which is a blessing.

1976 Boston Band . . . Not to be confused with 1980's ( soft rock ) Boston. Both were very good, but they had a bit of a different sound and groove.

Boston Brand ... yeah, I remember him - played with The Dead, didn't he?

Not sure? Out to lunch on that one. Well anyway I refer too Boston in the 70's as Boston Band and 80's Boston generally as just Boston. Cause that's what they were in the 70's, a rock band. Just my silly quirk when I talk to people about it. Not that I do it that much . . . Haahaaaa.

Sorry, that was just a joke that apparently failed - an attempt to play on the name of comic book character Boston Brand, aka Deadman, being one letter off from the phrase "Boston band" that you happened to use in your post. Maybe it would have worked better if The Grateful Dead were from Boston instead of California.

Haahahaaaa! A late laugh is better than none at all. That was good. It would have worked better if I wasn't such a dope ass, that all, nothing too do with the execution.

Bob Marley's always been my jam, but hearing loss made his tunes sound like a muffled mess. Thanks to the hearing aid store though, I can groove to his beats once more, without all that weird noise messing things up. Now, every chord hits just right, and I can feel the music like never before. Bob's melodies keep me going, reminding me how tech can really change the game.

I've been listening to a very mid band called Kittie. They came out in the late 90s-early 00s around the time I was going into college, and I can't think of an artist that is more hit and miss with me. They have albums I enjoy from "pretty good" to "I really like that," but never quite hitting "I LOVE IT!" territory.
Then they have albums that are absolutely unlistenable, grating garbage to my ears, and virtually nothing in between.
But they have two and a half albums I like without qualification, and I've been listening to those. More detailed post going in the metal thread.

Some of the 'no copyright' 'free use' music on youtube is really nice....intended for reuse if you're making a video and want something cool playing in the background. I first heard this while watching (with keen interest) a video on a home-made gun.
