Got an earworm going on with this old Jamiroquai classic (just a wicked bass line and killer groove to the whole song, check out if you are in the mood for funk/dance):

And on a more mellow note ("Mellow Gold" as it were), this cool early Beck tune:

I still love the Cardigans.
And Babes in Toyland playing the Carpenters' "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft":

In honor of the late great Wayne Shorter I'm listening to his 1966 album Speak No Evil. Next up will probably be Miles Smiles.

I remember hearing Millennium during old ECW Hardcore TV episodes, so it was nice to finally find it

I have been listening to a large chunk of Weather Report's discography. My gateway into jazz was bebop, and I had a much harder time getting into fusion and free jazz. And even though I'm a huge fan of funk, for some reason I don't gravitate towards jazz funk. I eventually came to like Bitches Brew and the live recordings of it, and I like a lot of the jazz funk by Herbie Hancock, Jimmy Smith and Donald Byrd, especially the hip-hop sample sounding stuff, but Weather Report has never really appealed to me. I found myself digging them more as a live band this time. Their best LP, for my money, is Heavy Weather. I'd be curious to hear what other people think.

I just purchased Timelines, the latest LP from The Kynd, CCF's own Confessor's band. After listening to it for the first time, all I can say is... MORE! Great work, sir!

I'm very proud of it. For anyone else who is interested in buying a copy of Timelines the new album by my band The Kynd, you can order it on CD or vinyl LP through BandCamp at the link below, which is better for us as they take less commision than Amazon or eBay do... BandCamp link: thekynduk.bandcamp.com/If you want a little taster before you buy, here are the promo videos for the first two singles that were released from the album... Whispers & Tones: Older:

I've only listened to the album twice so far - usually it takes a lot more listens than that for anything new to sink in for me - but it sounds great.

Thanks, berkley. Really glad you are enjoying it. The band and I are pleased with how the album turned out and it's nice to hear that you're finding it accessible after so few listens. That's always my aim when writing or co-writing songs; I want my songs to be like a Beatles' record where they grab you pretty much from the first listen without every resorting to cheap, dumbed down musical cliche or banally repetitive melodies. Hopefully I come somewhat close to achieving that on this album.
