Random point: one newspaper over here, which often 'reports' apocalyptic 'news' about weather, uses Fahrenheit temperatures for hot weather and Celsius temperature for cold weather.
This obviously means they can "inflate" the news, so that any hot weather is presented as something that will melt our soles off whilst the cold weather is presented as something which will cause icicles to grow on our toes!
It's disingenuous.

The weather has been unseasonably warm for close to two weeks now. Today it was 6 °C — after sunset.
The Okanagan Valley may experience warmer winters than many other regions of Canada, but I don't remember any prior December ever being this warm.

Tomorrow, I'm facing a HIGH WIND WARNING -- I'm getting reports of 25 to 40 MPH winds with Guests up to 60 potentially (Could change by tomorrow) ... I may be out power sometimes tomorrow and may take a day to two to get back on. I got food for 4 days and planning on do some fasting for a day or more to save my food. I got plenty of batteries, candles, and reading materials during the day.
Thursday will be an interesting day for me.

I survived the Thursday Storm yesterday ...
That was a doozy of a storm. Gusts topped 65 mph here in Puget Sound with Everett reporting a gust of 66 mph. Mt. Baker had a gust of 117 mph and Seattle had a gust of 52 mph. We have a break from the storms for a little while so that will help. Friday will be dry and calm. From Fox 13 Channel.
I had a friend that loves to Ski in Mt. Baker and while he was approaching Mt. Baker -- he and his wife were advised to not to ski and they headed back to Bellingham and camped out a cheap motel for an overnight stay. That Motel had power, fortunately they decided not to bother ski on Friday and (right now) they are on their way home and should be home by 10 or 11 AM this morning.
According to Seattle Times -- 300,000 lost power, yesterday and this morning, I checked the Outage Map and discovered that they restored over 235,000 customers and they should have the rest of it done by Friday and the latest Saturday AM.
Two Major Storms in December ... Last Friday and Yesterday.
We even had a rare Tornado in Port Orchard on December 19th ... A rarity in our area and the first one in 20 years.
I have a college friend that lived there and he was on his way home from work and he was stunned to see it. He and his family lost power and they should get it back by Saturday. He is presently staying at his Parents Place they were spared even by the double impact of Tornado and Winds ...
Crazy Weather here in the Pacific Northwest ...

I'm glad you're okay! One of the windiest and breeziest months that I ever experienced here and I was looking at my front window seeing trees going back in forth like a see saw and that's was something else. It went on from 6am to 7pm and the local forecast ... checked pretty much on a hourly basis ... 18 mph to 33 mph gusts and that went on for eons. Then, we went through a couple of gale warnings of us having 40-45 mph winds and that never happen at all. Thank Goodness.I had food outside my porch in a box for most of the day yesterday with two days of food there in case no power on Friday and Saturday. I pretty much ate Cold Cereal in the morning and some cold chipped beef and noodles in the afternoon that cold and can be eaten cold. I'm going to have that tomorrow ... thinking of going out to dinner today and tired of staying home I seen drivers out in the main street struggling to drive because of the gusty winds ... watched for 5 minutes and came back home. It was wild and wicked ... and glad it's all over.

Yep, Fool's Spring hits it. Last week with nights up into the 60's and days into the 70's. Over the weekend a northern storm front has blown in so suddenly we are back to the high 30's at night and mid 60's during the day and supposed to be up and down but pretty much the same for the weekend and through next week.

Overnight, 41,000 people do not have power ... we are expecting another inch or 2 of more snow and looks like it will continue off and on until the 21st of this month. I'm having a SERIOUS CASE OF SPRING FEVER ...

Since last Monday, every other day ... I get 3-4 inches of snow and this is my 4th snow dump in my place and getting tired of it. More in the next 6-10 days and getting nasty; I may have to walk to the store (to get more food and supplies) this upcoming Saturday and that's not going to be an easy one to do.
Garbage Bins are jammed packed and that's no fun for me. I may have to put my garbage out on the patio deck in a day or two.

It is very white up here too. I am achey from shoveling as much as I could (no where near as bad as the big dump of '96-'97 however). We are in the spot with the least snowfall and not used to it, had been a snow free winter up to now though, there had even been a blossom count going on!
