I think I have my Top 50 picked, but I keep expecting to remember something else I want to add. I've only added like 1 story I've read in the 3 years since we did this last time, and I know I must have read some great stories since then that I am forgetting. This is exactly why I do the Classic Comics Reading Club I have a record of everything I've read since 2013.

Second draft of my list complete. I narrowed it down to works that absolutely deserve to be in my Top 10 (there are 30 of them, of course!), works that deserve honorable mention but aren't Top 10 material (got that down to 16), and works that, while meeting the criteria for this event, either aren't that amazing or don't feel much like "sagas" to me. One I kept (but barely, and only after serious consideration) was Scott McCloud's Zot! It's amazing, important, and has continuity, but it barely feels like a saga to me in that I don't feel there's an overarching arc or truly substantial character development. It's a bunch of loosely related, incredibly well crafted tales that adheres to continuity. So I barely kept it. These are the kinds of debates I'm having.

I got too far behind to keep track after the beginning of last year, but I did just look over my lists for 2014 and 2015 and found a few stories I had forgotten about that should be on the list.

One of my problems is that the vast majority of the stuff I've read in the last few years, and thus is freshest in my mind, is too new to qualify. And then there's the issue of there being very little stuff before the mid-60s really qualifying as a saga.
Ah well. I'm thinking about it.

Before the mid-1960s, sagas were easy to find in the newspaper serials: Terry and the Pirates, Little Orphan Annie, Prince Valiant, and Batman and Superman, for example. Does that help?

At first I thought this would just be a copy of the saga list we posted a few years ago, but maybe I can think out of the box this time around.

I'm making a quick short list and I've decided to leave out mini series. It will make it tougher , but it will give love to the magic of an ongoing book having a great story in the midst of average stories.

I'm in, but I may not be able to get write ups done for my entries until a few days into August, so I will catch up, but you may not see my entries for a few days after we start.

Are full write ups required for honorable mention choices? With time constraints, I will have a lot fewer honorable mentions if I hav eto do a write up for each one.
