All-Star Comics #1-57. Duh. Cei-U! I summon the big ol' pipe dream! It should also be something that an average collector could foreseeably afford to own. Go rest those teeth, pipe dreamer. See my correction above. Cei-U! ...and I'm typing with my tongue!

Suicide Squad (Vol. 1) 1-66 & Annual 1
I'm halfway through a re-read, and it's such a good book for so many reasons. Ostrander is great when it comes to episodic, long form story-telling, as well as smaller sub-arcs and single-issue tales. His characterizations are great, and he is good at incorporating lesser-known villains and fairly-deep cut characters and making you care about them. I also like that he utilized continuity to make his stories richer, without being bogged down by it. It's an action and drama-filled, often-dark, often-funny, and always entertaining read.

The Daredevils #1-11, the entire run of the best magazine Marvel UK ever published, featuring much of Alan Moore's finest work.

Charley's War volumes 1-12 (because buying up all the individual issues of Battle Action Weekly would be difficult and would also give you lots of other strips that aren't needed).
This is simply the greatest war comic of all time and, as such, needs to be in our perfect collection.

The entire Nightstalkers series basically and the sequel series Blade Vampire Hunter I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking it, so I'll be the one that asks "Why this choice?"

My contribution: Iron Man 216-250 (David Michelinie's 2nd Run)... if allowed, all of Michelinie's Iron Man.. his first run(116-157) is almost as good. Armor Wars! Demon in a Bottle! Iron Man and Doom in King Arthur's court?

Marvel's Avengers #1 through 298. Provides superb comic run starting with fantastic art from Kirby and Heck into the Buscema brothers and then Byrne and Perez and ending with Buscema/Palmer and many others in between. Tremendous writing from Stan Lee to Roy Thomas to Steve Englehart to Jim Shooter to Roger Stern and other greats .Provides myriad hero and villain fun showcasing the great and not so great while also gives a showcase to what Marvel was over the years. It covers the gamut of what made Marvel writers and artists some of the best comic book creators to be found.

Marvel's Avengers #1 through 298. . If you tried to acquire that entire run it might run you 10 grand. If you haunt the comic shops and used bookstores it might be doable if you seek only cost affordable and lower priced reading and not worry over condition. Also much of the early run is available as reprints in Marvel Triple Action up to around issue 100 i think. Part of the thrill of the hunt and all that jazzmatazz don't you know?
