He looks like grand-dad here....ok, ok, I'll stop cracking he's too old jokes...but W-A-AA-AH.....I miss Matt   Bah! He looks like a proper Doctor, not these insolent young whipper-snappers they've had running around snogging anything that moves.  Hurt's withering put-down of 'timey-wimey' nonsense is one of my favourite moments in "Day of the Doctor". |

I'm stoked. I liked Matt Smith just fine, but this is the Doctor, not One Direction. The "young doctor who all the girl companions fall in love with" thing was fine for awhile, but I think it's played out now, so I'm looking forward to a different direction.

Just because the Doctor is 900 years old doesn't mean he has to look it. Ok, ok, I'm sorry, I miss Matt. Funny you bring that up... I did wonder if the young, attractive 'hip' version was specifically to get female fans... it seems to have worked if it was among my acquaintances, for sure. Also, the promos are saying he's 2000 years old now... that's a BIG difference.. I know towards then end of the Matt Smith era they went through a couple hundred years, but there's still a pretty big gap, unless I'm misremembering something. |

So Jenna Louise Coleman will leave at the end of this season (or in the Christmas episode). Which, meh. I never developed any feeling for her character, so her leaving doesn't do anything for me. And the episode titles for Season 8 have been announced -
