I think allergies to Gluten is a made up thing in order to sell cook books and new pre packaged dinners. There. I said it. I have to chime in here, a Gluten allergy is a very sensitive subject for me. One of my 6 year old Grandson's has a Gluten Allergy and it is causing him major anxiety and eating issues. It causes his esophagus to swell and he gags on everything when he eats so he is afraid to eat. He went on a Gluten free diet and the gagging stopped so they tried meds which worked for about 2 weeks and have stopped working so he has to go back to a Gluten free diet. He also has other issues that have caused him to be a very picky eater and now his menu has been extremely limited because he will not eat all Gluten free foods. This condition has caused him major physical and emotional issues, he is not gaining weight, he does not want to go to school because of the gagging, is subjected to watching everyone around him eating normal foods(like his twin brother) while he cannot and it is causing him emotional distress and he constantly cries. So your comments hit hard and it is a real thing, we as a family have to deal with it everyday and in his mind he cannot understand why he is different than everybody else, try dealing with all of that with a 6 year old that you Love dearly and not getting emotionally upset yourself.

Sorry if I upset you with this post. I think it is certainly over stated to the point that the diet industry is making people that don't have this condition believe they do. I hope your grandson gets better.

My least-favorite two weeks of the entire year are the one leading up to the Super Bowl and the one following it. This game is the most-overblown and annoying event of the year, as the national media reports on every insignificant detail of every moment of every day, down to how many times Peyton Manning sneezes during his Tuesday press conference or what color wristbands Cam Newton wore in his Thursday morning practice. Even CNN is having a show from the game on Saturday, because the countless hours that ESPN, Fox Sports, and CBS Sports aren't enough to cover every angle and report every minute detail.
I may be in the distinct minority as an American, but I've grown to despise the NFL and its ever-expanding reach into every aspect of American culture.
There. I said it.

As a woman who grew up with a mother who made it seem like a battle to get my dad's attention away from any sporting event on the television, I can honestly say I give zero cares about any sports played on TV. I just do not care a single bit. If not another word was breathed about the Super Bowl, I couldn't be happier. I won't be watching it because I do not care about it. I NEVER watch football, basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, NASCAR, or any other thing that even slightly resembles a sport of any kind. And the NFL is especially awful. Shady ass organization. Pffft.

Pffft. Thing is, I love other sports. My wife and I are HUGE baseball fans (had our first date at a Pittsburgh Pirates game), we both like college basketball and NHL hockey, and I watch Premiere League football (soccer) with my daughters. The difference for me is that I can miss a game and not care that I did. There are plenty of times when we watch a movie, catch up on some other TV, go out to dinner or hang out with friends, which causes me to not see an event, and that's fine. I enjoy sports, but I don't revolve my life around them.

No. My husband will only watch if it's on the TV when we go to my dad's house on Sundays. But, we never have to watch these things at home.

Jack Kerouac's "On the Road" is a mediocre novel about terrible people we are inexplicably supposed to admire. Possibly THE most overrated novel of the 20th Century.
Cei-U! I summon the iconoclastic outburst!

And now I will be sticking to only talking about comics and/or music here. I hope you change your mind. We want this place, particularly the Community board, to be a place where you can talk about anything you want within the bounds of civil conversation. Occasionally people will post things thinking they are being funny, but end up being snarky and rude.
Let this be a reminder to everyone to have some consideration before you post. Even if what you are saying isn't specifically against the rules doesn't mean that you won't end up offending someone.
Just be nice to each other people.

I enjoy sports, but I don't revolve my life around them. I'm not into watching most sports, though I do enjoy the occasional football (American style) game. I used to watch baseball as a kid, but I don't have the patience anymore. A game takes forever and there's so much time where nothing is happening. However, I don't plan anything around football, even the Super Bowl (unless it's the rare occasion the Packers make it in). In fact I've found that Super Bowl Sunday is a great time to go to restaurants that are usually a huge wait to get into, because they're nearly empty.
We will be recording the game this Sunday, but only to watch the commercials. If you want to see something horribly wrong and funny, Google "Doritos Super Bowl Commercial 2016". It is so wrong.

I really, really, really, really, really shouldn't read the comments left on Youtube.
They make me think that the Vogons had the right idea.
