I stopped in the military, while trying to get my weight down, switching to diet. After that, I couldn't stomach sugared sodas. I do maybe 2-3 a week now, keeping my weight around 136-138 which is good for my height 5ft 9. Although I just know I'll gain about 5 lbs over Christmas but that ham is mine. It really is unfair that you are so tall.

It really is unfair that you are so tall. It does help at concerts but I still wear pumps to go over 6ft. Which reminds me of the first time I met Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran, I was polite but....wasn't expecting him to be down there. Wish the fanzines would not exaggerate heights.

I try to just sneak by people to get up close to the stage. And, I was shocked when I met Tori Amos that she was so short! She is exactly my height.

I am soooooo sick of...RACIST WHITE MEN. There. I said it. In my genetics class last Thursday I spent a good while detailing how the arguments of racist white men are not only false, but also make no genetic sense whatsoever. It's good that I'm essentially preaching to the choir, since young 'uns tend to be far less racist than their elders (and thank Heaven for that).

Oh, there are quite a few young ones who are just as racist because they learn it from their trashy hateful elders.

I ordered some rare live recordings taken directly from the soundboard so quality is exceptionally high. These aren't official label cds but sometimes, they look and sound better than what SONY or Warner churns out, down to the booklets and design artwork inside. (Some bonafide remastered cd sounds awful). So I placed an order from Finland and got a package mailed from Russia? Putin digs Duran Duran. Quality is still awesome.

I stopped drinking coca-cola for over a month now, and although I thought I'd miss it, I don't. Love peardrax though yummy. I gave up Coke and all other soft drinks close to two years ago as part of the change in lifestyle required to reverse the venous stasis dermatitis that had settled into my legs. Funny thing is that even after drinking at least one 12 oz can of it every day for close to forty years, when I gave it up I went totally cold turkey (same way I gave up alcohol 20+ years ago). Cutting out the sugar, sodium, caffeine, and empty calories of soda contributed significantly to the 80+ pounds I've lost since then. Nor do I miss Coke at all. Just out of morbid curiosity, I ordered one with my meal at last year's Emerald City dinner--one of the imported ones made with cane sugar instead of corn syrup--but couldn't force myself to finish it. Blechh. Cei-U! I summon the abandoned monkey!

I used to be a hardcore soda junkie, but I've managed to wean myself off of it for the most part. I still do like the occasional mixed drink (rum and Dr. Pepper is my go-to) and there is nothing like a Coke with a good burger and fries in the summertime, but as a daily thing, I'm over it.

I drink diet soda. Growing up with a mother who was a type I diabetic, sugared anything was rarely allowed in my house. I can hardly handle regular soda, ever, and I only drink enough diet soda to get the caffeine boost in the afternoon. So, about 4 oz. Or so a day.

I usually drink one bottle of pepsi from the vending machine at work which usually lasts half my shift and that's all for the day. I know if I bought my own soda at the store I'd be drinking alot more. That I don't need.

I know if I bought my own soda at the store I'd be drinking alot more. That I don't need. This is pretty much how I treat soda. If it is not easily accessible I can do without. But if it is, like if I got free soda at work like I do coffee, I'd drink it. But since my wife drinks diet, there's never soda in the house, unless I buy a 2-liter for my youngest boy from time to time. And I usually let him have it all.

Gave up cokes (to use the Southern generic term) about 13 years ago under vile duress -- i.e. because after more than a quarter-century of Crohn's disease, carbonated beverages started causing all sorts of problems with my system. (These things [d]evolve over time. Until a few years ago I could eat unpeeled grapes & apples with no difficulty. Now I can't.)
Back in Little Rock, I averaged 6 cans of diet cola a day at work, though as always my preferred version was red cream soda. If I were to knowingly be offered a last meal, I'm pretty sure that's what I'd request to drink.

I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of sodas I drink in a year. I have zero sweet tooth though, so I'd much rather drink coffee, iced tea or beer.
