Under Pressure is Queen’s best song. There I said it! Just the kind of error in judgement made by people who haven't properly appreciated Dragon Attack (from The Game album)! Ok that song had a sweet baseline. Still not as good as Under Pressure. To risk adding insult to injury Let’s Dance is David Bowie’s best song. There I said it!

People today are "demanding" that movie and television characters of race be played by an actual actor of said race. That means many of our current and past movies would NEVER have been filmed. How many real Kryptonian's, Asgardian's, Eternals, Kree, Skrulls, Inhumans, Transformers etc do you really know of in reality? There I said it!

For me, it's Another One Bites The Dust
Damn, it's like 40 years old but doesn't sound dated at all....
The wife and I saw the movie Bohemian Rhapsody 3 times. It was great. I am partial to the song the movie is named after.

I heard that a movie about a transgender person wasn't made because they cast Scarlet Johansen and it was protested against.

It's a problem with the " woke" crowd. I heard that a movie about a transgender person wasn't made because they cast Scarlet Johansen and it was protested against. And it's a problem with modern news media that five people with an axe to grind and access to the internet are a "crowd" to be picked up, thrown into the news feedback machine where reporters report on reports of reports of what people said other people said, and cut, and paste, and suddenly we're not in Kansas any more, Toto and the whole thing is distorted far beyond any recognisable relationship to reality.

Too many people are angry and $hitposting on the internet to sound “progressive“ is much easier than the effort of actual progression.
Let’s worry about how black people are systematically in many states being hindered from voting before we care what actress is playing a f*>€¥ing androgynous android in a live action movie based off a mediocre anime.
There I said it!!!!

While I certainly understand the frustration expressed by some here, the importance of representation can be difficult to truly understand for a group that has always been well represented in everything. I've never lacked straight white guys to aspire to be because I saw them in media and pop culture all the time and everywhere I looked, so to me it has never been a big deal to see myself represented that way. There are others however, who haven't had that bounty of riches in representation, so I am not going to gainsay them, or their allies, when they speak out about it. Having spent a fair amount of time in classrooms in inner city schools and HBCUs where it was minority majority student populations when I was teacher when I was younger, I have been hearing expressions of frustrations about representation and its importance to minority youth since the early 90s, voices which usually fell on deaf ears when it came to the people in positions to make decisions about it. So I for one am glad those voices are now being heard and some people are actually starting to pay attention to it. No it may not seem as important to us as say voting rights, but to some it is, because it is part of the fabric of their everyday lives, a constant reminder of where they stand in the eyes of the system. But again, Most have never had to endure a lack of representation to understand what that is like.
There I said it.

I don't think Major Motoko could be described as 'androgynous'.

I don't think Major Motoko could be described as 'androgynous'. Its been a long time I’ve seen the anime and have no interest in the new movie so I may be remembering wrong and/or mixing it up with another anime of the time. The 80’s/90’s was peak anime era for me. So I watched a lot at the time.

I am all for and encourage representation for all kinds of artistry. I just don't care for or like all the "hate/death/exclusivity" that many have joined into. There is room for change and growth without the personal attacks upon others.

I agree. But one of the recent examples the voice actor for Cleveland Brown (Family Guy & The Cleveland Show) was bullied/coerced/made to feel guilty as a white man portraying a black fictional character to the point he retired from the job. Now I don’t know if his public statement was his real feelings in the matter or if he was telling the “progressives” what they wanted to hear and move on. But he’s iconic playing Cleveland and if he’s doing the job well does his skin color matter? I though equality and not judging people by the color or their skin is what the progressive ultimate goal is with our country and species.
