I get tired of the constantly zipping around camera angles for no reason whatsoever in modern movies, no reason other than they can and think it keeps some people from getting bored. It mostly makes me remember I'm watching something unreal, with a lot of CGI usually as well.

This came up from a source that flabergasted me and I wanted to say the same thing here. It's an election year; there is a lot going on that needs to be addressed and this is the time to do so. Vote. Submit an absentee ballot, social distance at the polls, whatever you need to do to be safe; but, vote. It does matter. The electoral college isn't more important if enough people turn out to vote. Your voice does count.
To put another, and slightly more angry way: I didn't sacrifice 8 years of my life, in service to this country, for large parts of the population to shirk their civic duty.
VOTE!!!

I think it was Roger Ebert who observed that if the camera is never on any actor for more than three seconds, then that really relieves the actors from the burden of acting.

Online unsolicited job head hunters for Temp services are a PAIN IN THE GLUTEUS MAXIMUS! There, I said it! After posting my resume on Monster.com to apply for jobs my phone has been bombarded by calls, emails and texts from any/every Temp service you can think of! And worse of all, these are folks located in other cities with such heavy accents you can hardly comprehend their phone calls and the emails/texts give NO REAL INFORMATION and are essentially click bait trying to lure you into their clutches with delusions of great paying full time opportunities. They are lies! If I wanted to sign up with a hiring service for part time work that rarely ever becomes an offer of a full time job I would apply directly. I dont need unwanted and unsolicited garbage clogging up my phone and email which I have to continuously sort and delete. There, I double, triple and quadruple SAID IT...

I dont need unwanted and unsolicited garbage clogging up my phone and email which I have to continuously sort and delete. There, I double, triple and quadruple SAID IT... Man, that kind of stuff gets depressing. The result of an unregulated internet... everything devolves down to the level of Craigslist, major gateways for outright scammers... supposedly the market regulates itself by after x number of people get burned and tell them they will pull/block/ban whatever but the scammers then target some legit agencies and also come back under a new ID-shell-company-number-whatever. For decades there have been the same folks pretending they cast extras in films and gaining credit card numbers and social security/insurance numbers. What do you do when you know the right thing and yet people just argue with you for literally decades? You keep saying it I guess. I probably said the internet needs to follow the same laws and regulations as brick and mortar business and print media sometime in the late 1980s! I even remember questioning Napster when it first appeared and everyone either totally ignored it or was high on getting free (if poor quality) stuff. Hey, it's just the economy... like the food chain, something our survival depends on, but what the heck, let's just make up whatever we want in the moment. I haven't answered the phone to a number I don't definitely know for at least a decade. So strange seeing area codes for Italy and India so often for someone who remembers when an hour long call to Toronto could cost enough to really hurt a yearly budget!

Well, I've always felt a non vote can be seen as a vote in itself. But yes, generally it is a duty to at least pick a lesser of two evils. Also if you don't use something you can end up losing it is an old cliched maxim with some truth to it. There was one federal election in Canada where I didn't vote but was easily enough able to... I absolutely could not distinguish between the candidates/parties at the time. That hasn't been true for awhile though. Also we had a single simple item to vote on unlike in the U.S. where you have various positions to vote on and initiatives etc.

Except maybe the BQ, which is a regional party, and could be seen as a bag of tostitoes.

I just donated to two out of state Senatorial races. Idaho is a lost cause, but there are close races that are important. It's been a long time since I've done that.

A non-vote is choosing not to formally weigh in on the election, both in my opinion and in actual fact. I can't and won't speak to Canadian politics as I am largely in the dark there, but in the USA in my voting lifetime there has never been an effectively indistinguishable choice in a major election. I personally would see it as a dereliction of my duty and forfeiture of any right to complain if I did not particulate personally in any major election there, but that is just me and no slight is meant toward anyone else.
And in 2020, the choices are anything but interchangeable regardless of what any fringe players try to say.

I like to look at which races are competitive according to the Cook Political Report's ratings, and choose ones that I'm interested among those.

My size relative to the rest of the universe doesn't make me feel insignificant; it makes me feel part of something significant.
There, I said it.
