My size relative to the rest of the universe doesn't make me feel insignificant; it makes me feel part of something significant. There, I said it. Sounds like somebody is asking to spend some time in the Total Perspective Vortex

If you haven't completed the Census, it's important to do so to ensure accurate representation in Congress. Filling it out online saves on manpower of sending out census takers in the midst of a pandemic. If you relatives, friends, neighbors, etc., it's good to urge them to complete the Census, too. Some people (especially the elderly or poor) might have difficulty filling it out online.

The current administration, which had previously said that the Census Bureau would need additional time to finish its counting, has stated that the tallying needs to be done by September 30 instead of October 31. It is critical to make sure that anyone in elderly, minority, homeless or other communities who might have difficulty filling their forms out or who may not have heard of the time reduction are assisted in this task to ensure proper representation. Although, I have to wonder just who benefits from this shift in timing...nah, I'm just being paranoid, right? Because this administration has NOTHING but the best intentions towards under-represented and under-supported groups, so it must just be me.

I find myself once again unable to completely answer something here without veering unavoidably into political territory. I will try stick to civics instead. Suffice to say, anyone who honestly believes in the ideals of our representative democracy should want us to base that representation on fair, accurate REAL data. A complete and accurate census is the cornerstone for determining that.
Also personally, I take issue with anyone willing to intentionally fudge the data (aka lie) to win by cheating.

Way to walk the tightrope, both of you.

John Denver missed a trick by not having that song re-done to "You fill out my census..."

You know your friend has gotten old when he sends your Birthday gift in August via mail from another state with Specialty Fudge and Cheesecake and he didn't stop to think what 110 degree temperature in Arizona will do to said gifts. Received the chocolate fudge syrup and cheesecake soup in their nicely vacuum sealed packs thank you very much and promptly placed into the refrigerator for a couple days to firm up. Please say hello to early onset Alzheimers in a friend. There I said it!

He isn't into comics and knows not to try and get me comics. As to Whiskey in heat: it won't spoil the whiskey but it does ruin the flavor/taste over time or intense heat.

My 5th Grade teacher tortured us with John Denver, EVERY week. I didn't have an issue with his music before; but it created an extreme hatred of it after about 2 months of it. By the end of the school year, if Denver had crashed his plane then, I might have actually cheered. Thankfully, the passage of time soothed all of that. Well, that and the Muppets.

The Muppets & Denver Christmas CD is the most-played Christmas music in our family (by which I mean "wife", since she's the X-mas music boss). I'm not a Denver fan, but I prefer this CD to the rest of her schlocky Christmas music (Ray Conniff, Mitch Miller, etc). I credit the Muppets for this as well.

That album was a favorite of my family as well, along with 'Twas the Night Before Christmas by Fred Waring & the Pennsylvanians and Christmas Time with The Harlem Children's Chorus. Sadly, that last one has never been released on CD (it's really good), but I have the first two on CD and still play them often, along with Vince Guaraldi's Charlie Brown music.

As someone who collects anti-christmas songs this is the only good JD Xmess track
