I read 85 books this month, but nothing really stood out as exceptional for me. A lot of it was modern stuff, either things from my weekly pull list or recent short series that I will probably be looking to sell or trade in the near future that I wanted to give one last read to before disposing of. I did reread the last 15 Captain America issues of Tales of Suspense for my review thread, as well as the first 5 issues of his solo series. Also plowed through the Warlock Masterworks book I picked up at Buckeye Comicon last weekend (was not at all impressed by it, but I have never really been much of a fan of Marvel's cosmic characters) as well as the 1001 Nights of Snowfall TPB I got at the same show. I have several versions of the Warlock series but there's a special treat reading them in the Masterworks format in those vibrant colors.

It was pretty to look at, but I never connected with the story. Plus, his "followers" were all one step away from being Rick Jones in terms of attitude, and we all know how I feel about him.

I read 47. Which is the most in a month by a long shot.
Got caught up to date with Chew. Re-read the first Astro City trade and the final Fade Out trade.
Good month.

38 comics for me in April.
Best of the month are: 1) Criminal 10th Anniversary Special 2) Marble Season 3) RASL by Jeff Smith
Worst book of the Month : One Soul (Oni Press, can't even remember the writer). I read somewhere that it won the Grand Prix at Angoulême this year, so I borrowed it at the library, and could barely finish it. The idea (layout of the pages) on how to present the book is interesting and original, but I don't know if it's my difficulty to concentrate or my lack of skills in English, but reading it was a chore and I couldn't understand/remember anything from page to page...

May was the lightest month of the year so far for me, only about 94 comics read-a lot more modern stuff read as I read a lot from the library and the newer books I got, but classic highlights for me include FF 48-50, the classic Galactus trilogy, Scott McCloud's Destroy OGN and Tales of Suspense 81-83.
Total for the year is just under 1000 (977) so I should break 1000 in June.

Pretty good month for me as I made some good progress catching up on my trades. I think the Cap/Falcon was my favorite for the month ... Black Lightning a close second.

I finished with 170 read for the month of May. Lots of binge reading because I was home a week with a stomach thing. I read some nice Bronze age stuff ( Kamandi, MOKF) and also a nice chunk of the Geoff Johns Teen Titans run. Other highlights were Nexus 1-7 and Promethia 1-6. Alan Moore never ceases to capture my Imagination.

A good month for me, not number-wise, but I had fun getting into several micro runs with intense (but limited) focus. I look forward to doing more of this in the next few months as I acquired quite a few short runs in the past month, most of them by Kirby.

May was my busiest month of comic reading since January. Just haven't been reading as much this year. I mostly read newer comics too this month other than a couple issues of Veitch's Swamp Thing at the end of the new print of Hellblazer Vol. 1, the Punisher: A Man Called Frank GN and reading a few more issues of Stray Bullets out of the big omnibus.
Didn't read any bad comics at all. Stray Bullets is a very unique series. The Goddamned has been very good, if they can get it out. Brandon Graham's Prophet is zany and wild. East of West is building to all heck breaking loose.

70 books for me, my biggest month this year.
Best read of the month : 1)Corto Maltese - La Ballade de la Mer Salée (FInally a Pratt book I really enjoyed a lot!) 2) RASL volume 2 by jeff Smithù 3)Mouse Guard - Winter 1152
Disappointing book : Wolverine Volume 2 - The Death of Wolverine. Borrowed it at the library thinking it was his most recent death, and it sucked.

Nothing to really brag about this month, my highlights were the Ennis Battlefields books Im working my way through, and the hilarious Satans Sodomy Baby, whose title could very well get me kicked off these forums (and have my immortal soul disbarred). The month was full of DC filler issues as they padded out their 52 issues before Rebirth. Speaking of which, I cant believe how much I enjoyed the first issues of that, given the problem I had with the new52 doppelgangers. Marvel however continues to underwhelm, other than their low tier books like PM&IF, Spiderwoman, and maybe Silver Surfer. None of their big guns is doing it for me ( well Mighty Thor does ) with Cap, IM, X-books and inhumans all disappointing.
I dont seem to be reading comics so obsessively now, ive even just finished the first real book ive read in some 2 years or so, Leviathan Wakes by James Corey which the Expanse TV series is based on. However I am starting to be obsessive with my Oblivion game on the laptop, which is nicely modded, and a real joy to explore after 4 or 5 years away.

I'm repeating myself, but Garth Ennis war books are some of my favorite comics. Just read Dreaming Eagles #1 this week, and I bought the 4th collections of War Stories This week. Can'T wait to read it when i get time.
