A big push the last three days of the month, during which I read 27 books, got me to 87 books for the month. I'm pretty pleased with that, seeing as I had an entire week where I only read one book.
Best things I read this month were the first Agents of Atlas mini-series and the first Agents of Atlas ongoing (even though it only last 11 issues). Great character work along with fun stories really made these for me.
I also re-read the entire Darkhawk series this month, as I am looking to cull some books from my collection, and I am focusing on 90's and early-2000's books to get rid of. The series started out with promise, but as it went on, the stories just lost their steam.

Not much or classics this month for me... not alot of free time at home where my comics live. More trades (which can come on the train easily) and keeping up with my current stuff. Quite a few novels, too.

Not a lot of reading for me this month. Only Star Wars Manga.
It was okay. I'm reading the second volume now, if I didn't already have the third I wouldn't bother.

I got finally got myself a subscription to Marvel Unlimited(I don't know why I never did before!) and I'm blown away at the size of the library, I hardly know where to start.

I have had it since last July and I am still trying to figure out what to read. I've read a ton of Silver Age stuff and then a ton of stuff I missed in my hiatus from comics between '06 and '12, plus reread some Heroes Return era stuff and some early MArvel Knights stuff, sampled some newer books and... there is just so much to read, I have to try to balance it with other non-Marvel stuff because it is so easy to access all that stuff and so easy to get lost in reading it. I keep wishing DC would do something similar. -M

I keep wishing DC would do something similar. -M It's almost like sensory overload to me, there's just so much there and so much I haven't read but have always wanted to try. It took me most of the day but I decided to go with Doctor Strange to start with, he's a character I've always enjoyed seeing and have even owned a few prints of Ditko's work from the book but haven't actually read. So far it's really blown me away, coming from a book from the early 60's my expectations weren't very high story wise, and while on a strictly plot level they are pretty simplistic the world they create as a whole is fascinating to see. I was going to just read it right through, and I may go back and do that later but I found a couple "best of lists" online and I'm going for those first. Strangely though, the book I joined to track down on the cheap, Moon Knight, doesn't seem to be available other than the more recent volumes.

Yeah the priority it seems, for them is to have the Silver Age stuff and more recent stuff complete, then focus on some popular franchises-mostly stuff that has cinematic ties, then fill in here and there with samplings of Golden and Bronze Age stuff, but there are a lot of holes still. 2nd and 3rd tier characters from the 70s, 80s and 90s are not always represented as well, aside from sample issues (often 1st issues or first appearances, or tie ins to larger storylines rather than whole runs. Still they add new stuff (often older stuff not there already) each week, and there is enough there that you can always find something interesting to read.

So April wraps up with my lowest total of comics read for the year so far (109), but still a decent amount,
Read a lot more newer stuff, especially stuff from the library, but the classic highlights had to be Lee/Kirby FF finally hitting its stride (read 41-47 and Annual 3 this month, and handful of Kubert Tarzan issues.
I also read a large chunk of Preacher by Ennis (#1-20) and I remain as meh on this series now as I did the previous 2 times I tried to read through it. I am approaching where I dropped it the previous 2 attempts, so we'll see if I can get past that point this time.
I read the first Moore volume of Miracleman as well, and it was very good, but there is other Moore stuff I like better for many different reasons.
I stepped away from a lot of runs that had been fueling my reading in Jan-March, so I think I need to get back to those.

This April I finished with a total of 45 comics read. By far the lowest total in the 4 years of reading in these clubs. I had houseguests from Chile stay over for the better part of 3 weeks, so I couldn't be rude. Anyway the highlight was a Batman Showcase that collected the Detective and Batman issues from the 70's. The intro of Ras Al Ghul and great art by Adams, Bob Brown, Irv Novick and Frank Robbins made it all a treat. All theses issues were done in one. The stories were So refreshing and they also involved an aspect of Batman that has been missing for years-his detective skills.

I read 85 books this month, but nothing really stood out as exceptional for me. A lot of it was modern stuff, either things from my weekly pull list or recent short series that I will probably be looking to sell or trade in the near future that I wanted to give one last read to before disposing of.
I did reread the last 15 Captain America issues of Tales of Suspense for my review thread, as well as the first 5 issues of his solo series. Also plowed through the Warlock Masterworks book I picked up at Buckeye Comicon last weekend (was not at all impressed by it, but I have never really been much of a fan of Marvel's cosmic characters) as well as the 1001 Nights of Snowfall TPB I got at the same show.
