Ok, so I must have been better this year than I thought. My wife took me to Half Price Books today while they were running their storewide 20% off sale and told me to pick out some stuff to finish my X-Mas gifts... first, here's a pic of the stuff I got from my mom... Finder, Fear Agent, A Distant Soil, Usagi Saga Vol. 2 and a bunch of Mignolaverse stuff and here's the stuff I got today... 2 volumes of Sin City, 3 volumes (5-7) of The Sixth Gun, Vol. 2 of Global Frequency, the Heartburst OGN Rick Veitch did for Marvel, the first volume of the complete Alex Toth Zorro from Eclipse, the deluxe edition hc of Solo, an art book on drawing horror comics called Scared that I first saw via interlibrary loan 4 years ago and have been looking for since, and a nifty 2016 Cthulhu calendar... -M WOW. That is awesome! That is quite the haul!

So! With a the gift card I got, I have these things coming in the mail: I need these because my Yurbuds will not stay in my ears. And with the Christmas cash I was given, I have three different Steve Ditko hardcovers on their way to me.

Oh, I am also getting new Ikea shelves. With doors, so I can protect some books from sunlight better. My bff will help me set them up soon as they get delivered.

So within 8 hours yesterday, these 12 boxes: Turned into this: Looking good. That sure made a big change in that room. I forgot to take a "before" pic of the old shelves those replaced, but here you can see part of them in a xmas pic from a few years ago. They were almost as old as I am, I had them in my room growing up and took them with me when I left. I was really over looking at them!!

Santa? The fat bastard brought me diddlysquat.* Ah, but my family! My sister gave me Seasons 1 and 2 of the '60s Batman series and a Seahawks tee shirt, two of my nieces gave me smoke, my nephew-in-law gave me an Avengers coffee mug which now serves as my straw holder, my friends the Yuhases sent me a big slab of pecan fudge, my pal Steve sent me a copy of "The Best American Travel Writing 2015," and my great nephew Jonny made me a stained glass Superman emblem for my library/office that is awesomer than awesome.
I also used part of my advance to pick up some of the reference material I need for the books. Funnybooks (Dell Comics), The Six-Gun Mystique (the Western genre), Love On The Racks (romance comics) and The Great Movie Serials (self-explanatory) have already arrived. Tune In Yesterday (radio) and Danger Is My Business (pulps) are in transit. Merry Christmas to me.
And to all of you too!
Cei-U! I summon the jingle bells!
*To be fair, I asked for diddlysquat.
