and I posted this before in another thread but I think more then ever this is the right place to show this again.
If you mised it before this is a clip of the Milton Berle Show where he does a skit with both Batman (Adam West) & The Green Hornet (Van Williams) and Kato (Bruce Lee).
Enjoy! This was awesome. I didn't know this even existed.

That was great article. I'm guessing it's from a book he wrote.

That was great article. I'm guessing it's from a book he wrote. Now you know that Adam West cracked up every time he said " To The Bat Pole"

To be fair, that was his background; he was mainly a financial guy his entire career. Kahn came more from the creative end, as she built her name in the book and magazine world creating publications, especially Dynamite, for Scholastic. That's what got her tapped for DC; she had the background of creating successful publications, aimed at Children. DC desperately needed that, then. The EIC position, at Marvel, fulfilled that role. Galton's period as President overlaps Shooter's, as EIC, and you get Marvel's biggest growth period, as Shooter stabilizes things, editorially, and gets a higher sales volume across the line, while Galton smooths out the financial end of things, making Marvel more marketable in the licensing world, which is where their revenue really came from (DC, too). You really start to see more mainstream Marvel-based merchandise, during his tenure.

That's pretty young. We are living in a country that promotes sugar and Carb based diets that create disease.

I saw the American Dream Dusty Rhodes wrestled in Charlotte once when he was in WCW and he was wrestling the Nature Boy Ric Flair in an main event in a non-title match. Ric Flair was the WCW Champion that time and don't recall what year it was.

Dusty died 2 years ago. The past couple of years have seen several legends pass away: Dusty Rhodes, Verne Gagne, Nick Bockwinkel, Roddy Piper. Randy Savage's mother, Judy Poffo just recently passed away, after living through the deaths of her husband, Angelo Poffo (aka The Miser and The Graduate), and son Randy. Lanny Poffo is the only member of the family left. Pacific Northwest wrestler and trainer Buddy Wayne just passed away.

Stephen Furst, best know as Flounder from Animal House as well as roles on Babylon 5 and St. Elsewhere, passed away yesterday at the age of 63 from complications from diabetes. Furst is a shame, as he had really dropped weight by the end of Babylon 5. He was looking really healthy and even put out a book about his experiences and diet. Furst was excellent in Animal House, as Flounder ("Oh boy, is this great!") and St Elsewhere (which let him exercise his acting chops more); but, Babylon 5 was my favorite of his work. As Vir, aid to Londo Mollari, he was a wonderfully complex character. At the start of the series, Londo is a bit of a joke and his position is looked down upon. The hapless and timid Vir is assigned as his aid, because he is an embarrassment to his family. Londo mistreats Vir; but, he genuinely comes to like him and sees something in him, something of himself.. Vir grows and starts taking stands. he tries to act as a voice of reason and caution as Londo descends into darkness, with his pact with the Shadows. He argues against the war with the Narn. He finds he has to do something and sets up an underground railroad to help Nanr refugees escape Centauri-controlled space. He is told that he will one day become emperor, after Londo, which we see fulfilled in the final episode (a book trilogy shows how he led the fight to drive off the Drahk and free Centauri Prime of their control, which claims Londo's life). Through it all, Furst covers the range from bumbling and hapless, to lovable, to sympathetic, to wary, to passionate, to fearless fighter. He did it all well.

Director John Avildsen has passed away. Probably best known for directing the original Rocky film, as well as The Karate Kid, he also directed Jack Lemon to an Academy Award, in Save the Tiger. He also directed a favorite of mine, WW and the Dixie Dance Kings, with Burt Reynolds.
There's some great footage on Youtube of Avildsen and Ralph Macchio talking about The Karate Kid, including video tape of the rehearsals, auditions, and Q&As from various events.
