I've gone all elitist in terms of 70's rock and basically only listen to stuff like Roxy Music, Brian Eno, Television, Talking Heads, etc, now. I hit a wall with a lot of the uber-mainstream stuff (even the good stuff like The Who and Zeppelin) and rarely listen to it anymore. For some reason, this doesn't apply to The Beatles or The Stones. I guess they're too elemental for that to apply. Do yourself a favor and pick up The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads double live album. They remastered it a couple years ago and it sounds amazing.

Me, Pip and a few other RITAS are already here. What's a RITA? RITAS was a place on the CBR Comm Board where fun, mirth, pics of Jennifer Love Hewitt's ass, Guns & Roses music, unicorn pics and overall great people gathered together and talked about whatever. It was closed up when Jonah revamped with CBRNu52; leaving us cold and alone. Some of us were banned and no we have a home.

The way things are at CBRNu52, I can see this being a RITAS safehaven. Herr Weiland crossed the Sudetenland and we had to flee to a new home. Dude! Isn't he Jewish?

Thanks for the tip. I've been meaning to get this. I currently only have their first four albums, which are all masterpieces in my book. I like a lot about Speaking in Tongues and Little Creatures, but they were moving too far away from the experimental and quirky in the 80's for my tastes.

I bought the older Talking Heads albums a few years ago. Great stuff! And imagine discovering Roxy Music's Country Life in your Dad's album collection as a kid. I did. Didn't know what to expect from the cover, but the music quickly eclipsed that.

I've heard this category before about people: You're either an Eagles person or a Fleetwood Mac person. Curious to hear if that is true. I'm glad that's not true. Can you imagine living in such a world? It would be like having two choices of ice cream: vanilla or vanilla with extra beans. I actually like both Eagles & Fleetwood Mac (though probably Eagles more), and I like vanilla too. But the ice cream I had most recently was called Hot Chocolate with Churros. It was chocolate ice cream with cinnamon and little pieces of broken up churros (though from the texture I'm not sure it was actual churros and not some kind of cookie). Quite tasty.

I don't think I've ever had chocolate with cinnamon. What an interesting combo. My hands-down favorite ice cream is B&R's Nutty Coconut; you have to really, really like coconut though, perhaps the world's most divisive nut. Many people detest it.
EDITED TO ADD: Obviously, the coconut runs a distant second to Dan B.

Lord knows, Doug Moench's obvious desire to have the babies of each & every member of Fleetwood Mac -- probably all at the same time -- was, for me, the one major flaw of his MOKF back in the day.
