Hello everyone, I am Guernsey. I am really starting to enjoy some classic comics but I also want to know more about them too. I actually started reading some old comic runs. Welcome aboard, Guernsey. Which comic runs have you been reading?

Hey, my name is Jason - while I'm definitely a comics enthusiast (although I will say I've been less active in recent years) I was drawn here by the excellent toy reviews that really stoked my nostalgia for 80's robots, mecha, and the like. I'm a customer service agent as well as a freelance artist and writer. I've been slowly pulled back into the ol' nostalgia whirlpool and found myself re-reading old comics and manga and this seemed like a good place to start absorbing again!

Welcome aboard and join the fun. Even us old timers enjoyed a bit of mecha, before it was cool, via things like the Shogun Warriors toys and comics, Battle of the Planets/Gatchaman, Force V and things like Voltron and Robotech, in the 80s. I'm quite partial to the initial wave of manga that hit these shore, in the 80s, like Lone Wolf & Cub, Mai The Psychic Girl, Crying Freeman, Appleseed, Akira, and, especially, Area 88.

Cody's with you on the 80s robots & mecha, and some of us here watched 8th Man and Gigantor and Astro Boy in the 60s.

I was never super into mecha, but I did watch some Voltron in my youth, and I adore the 1984 Transformers Motion Picture. My mom rented it for me from the local video store when I was home sick from school in the mid-late 80s, and I've been a fan since.
Also, rewatching for the first time as an adult and realizing how absolutely brutally traumatizing it is is a canon event for a lot of people my age lol.

I am currently Starlin's run on Adam Warlock. I also plan to read the Starlin's run on Silver Surfer. I read those not too long ago. I really liked Starlin's Thanos stories that ran through various titles. My favourites are from Captain Marvel, Warlock and the 1977 Avengers and Marvel Two-in-One Annuals. Starlin's Silver Surfer work leads into Thanos Quest and the Infinity Gauntlet series which I think are the best of Thanos' appearances from the 90s
