Here we go again... Speculator Corner BCCrimson Fox is to be the lead superheroic character in the NBC comedy DC Series Powerless, so of course her first appearance in Justice League Europe #6 is starting to get attention. A quarter book for years, it is already starting to sell at $5 a pop and the series pilot hasn't even been shot yet. -M

I'm saving up my pennies for the inevitable RRP variants that will accompany DC Rebirth books...and especially any 1:200 Batman variant.
Hey, I made some nice money with Batman New 52 (and still have about 25 NM copies) having sold the last 5 copies for $75-80 each.

What's with this listing of Robin (Vol. 2) #78? I have it at home, but now maybe I don't want to open it, to get a refresher on it's contents. Lone Star's description doesn't seem to reflect anything unique other than some vague allusion to the last page of the comic for it to list from $14.40 NM to $3.20 FN. WRITTEN BY CHUCK DIXON; ART AND COVER BY PETE WOODS AND JESSE DELPERDANG. Tim gets a crash course -- emphasis on "crash" -- on the history of Chabar, his roommate's war-torn homeland -- when the escaped demon Arrakhat comes calling, with Rahfi as his target! Plus, Tim strikes out on an unexpected field and a surprise guest takes a bow on the last page! FC 40 pgs. Cover price $1.99.

Maybe it's a very low print run?

I base it off eBay. You can get for buck or two there.

Latest speculator craze...Scarlet b Bendis and Maleev, just got optioned for a TV show and less than 3 days after the news breaks, a raw copy of #1 in NM sells on ebay for $90... Bleeding CoolBC says it was a $9 book on ebay typically, I have seen them in dollar bins at shows and shops over the past few years... Nothing like the mindless tv/movie speculator bumps... -M

Nothing like the mindless tv/movie speculator bumps... -M BC was actually saying you could easily get the first four issues for 9$ very recently. But 90$? That's crazy as I don't believe the comic is scarce. Is it any original? Totally skipped it...

Shax, do you sell them when you can ? No, I'm thinking longer term. I think this kind of first appearance, published during a time when print runs were at their absolute lowest, could be BIG in another two decades. Who knows? Maybe one day I'll be able to sell nine of these and buy the 1st appearance of Martian manhunter himself with the profits.

It's all a gamble, I guess. I wouldn't think the first Ms. Martian will be sought after once the Supergirl book gets canceled. The secret is flipping it once it is at its most popular.

I'm the same way with the stock market. Look for long term gains, not quick flips. Miss Martian has a distinct and memorable personality, and I'm of the belief that the rise in female readership and in demand for female characters isn't going away. She'll have her own book one day.

So I bought a bunch of copies of San Diego Comic Con #2 two years back (1st Hellboy) for $60 a piece. Now there's a rebooted film coming out and it's already selling for $200+ on ebay. I'll definitely have to ebay these ahead of the new film. This is great, as I could really use some extra cash in this coming year!

For those who like to speculate...Start snapping up copies of Nightwatch #1 and Web of Spider-Man 97 (his 1st appearance) rumor has it Sony is eyeing developing a Nightwatch movie and looking at Spike Lee to direct. That's all it takes these days for dollar bin (or in this case more likely quarter bin) fare to start shooting up on ebay. Here's the article on the rumors... Heroic Hollywood there's a video link onthe article... from the article.. Run, run run to those dollar bins... -M
