Just sending out a call to the past participants @bert shaxper @draketungsten adamwarlock2099 Maybe we can start this thread over and continue the eternal battle. Things are going well. I'm making progress. My lowest was 176.4 as of Sunday. My weight fluctuates some but since I've managed to keep under 180 lbs. The eating habits that I am developing through the Noom program are already forming some. It is getting easier and easier to make good and healthy food choices most of the time so that like today, I went and got Arby's for lunch. Yeah today I blew my calorie budget, but when 99% I don't, I don't get that guilty feeling for eating something like that. Even though I did try to be healthy and get a wrap lol. And while I want to still loose more, when I took the kids and the oldest's gf to the water park I didn't wear a shirt. It felt good not to be embarrassed about my body. I just had fun and enjoyed the time with the kids. Plus swimming is good calorie burning fun. I think I am going to try to go at least three times a week for the exercise. I've also even stepped outside my usual jeans and t-shirts 24/7 and have been dressing more my age, and not looking too bad if I do say so myself. Except for my wife's not to fond of the panama hat I bought before we went to the water park My son's love it. They call it my "dad hat" lol. So I am feeling more confident to step out of my comfort zone with that too. Things are going well, hoping they continue. And with all ya'll progress as well. We can all do this with each other's support.

Aw crap, looks like I picked the wrong week to hold myself accountable. Fourth of July plus daughter's Middle School graduation/Birthday party + my inability to let good leftovers go to waste = 186 lbs now. But I am not deterred! Just unwise.

I hit a new low last week at 172.4. Otherwise I have been bouncing around in the 170's but haven't gone higher or can't break lower. I'm at the point where I am trying to get my son's old room cleaned out of the clutter (mostly his old bunk bed) and look into investing in some workout equipment so I can start a good routine. Some years ago when I did this the first time I went to a gym and I don't really want to do that again. I think in the end, even if it costs more financially, it'll cost me less in time, having it right there in the house. But buying workout equipment looks like buying women's shoes. There's so many different kinds and everyone says there is the best. But I'll do my research.

I have been reducing the last 3 weeks. I am under 200 for the first time in over a year and a half. I'm doing the things that work like not eating bread and sugar. I also have been only eating from 8am to 4pm each day, It works for me and don't feel hunger when I get home.

I'm gonna try it again. I've only gained weight since I last posted three years ago (as Drake Tungsten, for those not keeping tabs on my account switch). My body just insists on this 210-220 lb range. I'm not even weighing myself yet, because it would be too de-motivating. I'm finishing this Pepsi in front of me, then eating right again. It doesn't help that for the first time since my daughter was born 17 years ago, I haven't worked out steadily for the past six months. Not that working out is a significant source of weight loss, but it keeps me in the "be healthy" mindset. Anybody else wanna try to make a commitment?

I braved the scale today. I'm starting at 208 pounds. The last time I tried this, I got down to the 170s, but I was aiming for the 160s. I'm 5'4", so technically if I got down to the 140s I wouldn't be skin and bones, but I don't think my metabolism is going to let that happen. My wrestling weight in high school was 138. But if I could maintain around 160, I'd be pleased as punch. I'll also be happy if I can just be healthy enough to get off my BP and diabetes meds.
My first short-term goal is to get my jeans to loosen. I only ever wear shorts and sweats unless I'm riding. Struggling to get my jeans on for when I ride was one of the motivating factors to get me started losing weight again. I was also too self-conscious to take some family members for a ride because I didn't want them holding on to my flab. Also, I've learned that jeans aren't all they're cracked up to be for protection against skidding over roads. Leather is better, but that sounds like it feels more restrictive than even wearing jeans (which is one reason I avoid jeans). The point of this motorcycle clothing rambling is that one of my long term goals is to feel healthy and comfortable enough to at least try a pair of leather pants. And then maybe join Spinal Tap, while I'm at it. My jacket, at least, is pretty well armored.

Good luck. I ballooned up on my vacation and am doing Intermittent fasting. I'm eating in an 8 hour window from 10-6.

Good luck. I ballooned up on my vacation and am doing Intermittent fasting. I'm eating in an 8 hour window from 10-6. I've heard about this intermittent fasting, but hunger is just too distracting for me (I'm sure it is for everybody, but my willpower is weak). I'm keeping it basic - reducing carbs, using whole foods as much as possible, and reducing portion size. The last time around I was losing 4-5 pounds a week for the first month, and then about 3 pounds a week after that. I'm not trying to match that this time. Maybe if I take it more slowly, I'll stick with it for longer than a few months. Although it was a glorious few months at the time.

Any method works as long as you reduce the amount of calories going in. Stopping my eating at 6 is what works for me.

204 today. Two pounds in three weeks / four pounds in a month. Darn slow, but better than nothing.

I got serious in the last 2 weeks. I'm down from 218-206 as of today. That loss is from the last two weeks? That's really good. One of my goals is to lose enough weight to do ten pullups. I tried today and couldn't quite do one good one. If I lose 30 to 40 more pounds, though, I think that's achievable.
