This looks nice! I love what dedicated fans do with the franchise.

I'm finding myself missing the Thrawn trilogy books this week (I gave my well-thumbed copies away to charity when I moved in with my wife, as I was having a big clear out). They're such good books though, and such fun reads that I've had a hankering to revisit them. Might have to take a look on eBay for some cheap replacement copies.

This looks nice! I love what dedicated fans do with the franchise. I watched that a couple of nights ago. I agree, it looks really fun and I too find it amazing how high quality fan-made films can be.

The originals were utterly amazing reads, and if you see them for decent prices the newer ones are pretty solid too.

I would also recommend the 20th Anniversary Heir to the Empire. It has annotations, as well as a new Thrawn novella by Zahn. It really makes me wish we'd gotten annotated versions of all three books in the trilogy.

I learned today that this existed : the original Star Wars film, without the "episode four" mention, without new CGI effects, without Greedo shooting at anyone, and with all the scratches one expects from an old 16 mm copy. Not as pretty as the despecialized version, certainly, but easier to get access to!

They're fantastic.

They're fantastic. I'd love to get them, but they require downloading files from sites I'm not sure I trust... It would probably not be that much trouble to get them and burn them on DVDs, but up to now I never managed to summon the motivation. I sure wish Disney would reward Hammy with a load of cash and use his despecialized versions to produce a set of DVDs featuring the original trilogy. It would satisfy... well, everyone, essentially.

You know what really grinds my gears?
Fans who blow tiny little details into reasons to throw tantrums.
I mean, I understand getting annoyed by inconsistencies in continuity to a certain extent but in a world that literally has the line, " It was true...from a certain point of view" in regards to changing a plot point from the previous film it just seems crazy to get bent out of shape about a rancor being gifted to Jabba...and it isn't the name we heard(and most of us forgot) in Return of the Jedi.

Jabba could have more than one Rancor.. or could be that one died of old age before the one Luke fought. People are crazy sometimes

This is absolutely heartwarming. And I had no idea that Warwick Davis was so young when he played Wicket... Having seen him in Willow, I thought he had been a young adult in Return of the Jedi too.
