From Marc Silvestri To Draw Batman Monthly For DC Comics After Convergence Posted on December 1, 2014 by Rich Johnston We hear on the grapevine that Image Comics founder and owner of Top Cow, Marc Silvestri, will be drawing an ongoing Batman comic book for DC Comics in 2015. Silvestri, who has created and co-created such comics characters as Witchblade, The Darkness and the recent Rise Of The Magi, drew The Incredible Hulk for Marvel back in 2011 to relaunch the comic. And it looks like he might be about to do similar for Batman. Which title? Presumable not the main Batman title, as Greg Capullo seems ensconced on that book (for at least a year) but could it be Detective Comics? Or a third title, reviving Dark Knight perhaps? We don’t know. Maybe we will soon… but only after Convergence…

That's an interesting cover, though I don't know if we need another story about Batman mourning his parents so I hope this has nothing to do with his run.

Are we sure Capullo is entrenched? He let slip at a con appearance this summer his exclusive contract with DC and his commitment to Batman was ending, and there has been no ward that I have heard that he re-upped. IF he does leave the main book they will need a big name artist to take over to prevent readership attrition....

More from So, About That Marc Silvestri Batman Comic… And What It Means For DC Posted on December 2, 2014 by Rich Johnston Yesterday, Bleeding Cool broke the news that Marc Silvestri was coming to DC Comics to work on a Batman book to follow the upcoming Convergence event…. He’s not going to be alone. Expect upheavals for a number of books with a mixture of star names, Hollywood names, familiar names and web comic creators being given the chance to mix it up on a number of DC properties, in the manner of Harley Quinn, Batgirl, Gotham Academy, and Gotham By Midnight. . With new books and relaunches aplenty. But Marc Silvestri’s Batman book, I am told, is going to be a new series. And as for those doubting how long he’ll stay on the book, given his performance on Incredible Hulk a few years ago, I understand that Silvestri has been working on this comic book for quite some time. Indeed one source was surprised I’d only just heard about the project, as it was being talked about in San Diego… Though this isn’t the only big name Batman comic in the works. More as we have it…

Actually, I think I'd like his work more than Capullo (not a slam).
