So I hadn't planned on making this public, but after giving a heartfelt welcome back to Paulie in another thread and calling him a different user's name in that same heartfelt post, I think it's probably becoming apparent that something's up.
Over a month ago, I was in a car accident. At the time, a very well meaning member publicized it here, everyone went into a panic, and I did my best to calm everyone down, telling you everything was okay. That was mostly true. Fact of the matter is, though, I've had a concussion since that time that still hasn't left me. I'm gradually getting better, but have only been back to work intermittently and still blank when having conversations in the real world.
The CCF has been an escape for me during this time, a place where I could largely be myself, but my writing sometimes makes a lot less sense than usual, I don't always catch the gist of a post, and I'm just generally not quite myself. I'm sure some of you have noticed.
I'm getting better slowly, so there's no need for worry. I just felt I owed everyone an explanation.

No need for sympathies, guys. I'm okay. But my two least favorite things in life are unkindness and ignorance, and I've become increasingly afraid that my posts might be perceived as both. Thus the explanation

I hadn't noticed anything wrong with your posts. Adding my good wishes.

Thanks, folks. That's a big relief to hear. It's really weird, as an English teacher and writer, to be forced to suddenly write one sentence at a time, often unable to see the larger point in even your own posts. I'm glad it hasn't been too obvious.

Let me add another voice to the chorus: I hadn't noticed anything, and your posts are as interesting and well thought-out as usual. But still, here's hoping to a speedy recovery!

I haven't noticed any difference with your communications either Shax. Maybe you were always a bit "off". But whatever, hoping you keep feeling better everyday

You're still the man, Shax. You haven't skipped a beat. I'm praying for Gods favor in your healing.

I echo the sentiment of those who hadn't noticed anything different, as well as join those who are praying for a speedy recovery. And truth be told, your writing, in what you perceive to be a compromised state, is still far better than what some of us can manage at full capacity, so you have that going for you

You're far too kind, Richard. And thanks, everyone. I'm glad I haven't been embarrassing myself to the extent that I feared I was.

I would have to say your posts never skipped a best to me either. I hope that the damage continues to be recoverable for the rest of your days. I wish the best to you and your family my friend.

I don't know you all that well, and I have not been around for years, but your posts seem like they always have: Informative and fair. I hope you feel 100% soon.

I'm sorry you got rattled, Shax, but rest assured, in all honesty, I too have noticed nothing different about your posts.
Lucid and loquacious as always.
Good to know your on the mend.
Best Thanksgiving wish is always for good health.
