I've been counting everything I've read. So far I'm only reading about 1/3 classics.

Lots of volume for me this month, but I'm definitely mildly disappointed so far in the Starman and Hulk stuff. Vinland Saga was surprisingly good, as the story has caught up to the amazing art... looking forward to the next volume there.. that was probably the best read. I was also a bit surprised how much I enjoyed Daredevil (who I've never really got into)
On tap, I plan to continue to read Starman (in hopes it amuses me more), more silver age DC, and this months pulls (which should arrive Tuesday)

Well this month clocks in as being my lowest yet. Only 72 issues read. Of course, I was a little busy building a small online community you may have heard of during that time, so I think it's understandable.
While I've been in the process of slowly rebuilding my old review threads, I largely took a break from reading new issues in those runs and instead set down to blaze through some old runs I'd been meaning to attend to. The bulk of my reading was finishing Life with Archie: The Married Life (or at least catching up to the current issues), finishing Strikeforce: Morituri, and reading through J.M. DeMatteis' Doctor Fate.
A pretty good month, all things considered, but also the first one in two years where I bought more issues than I read (convention season having started!). My office is FILLED with stacks of books that need to be sorted. Yikes.

As May draws to a close, I have realized the new forums really cut into my comic reading time I read 81, but close to 60 books were in the first week or so before the site really took off in earnest. I need to post less and read more (which will be a relief to y'all ) Best of May... Waid's DD Fear Agent Vol. 2 Rosa Uncle Scrooge FCBD Edition first couple issues of Bone Vol. 2 of Gotham Central JL8 and the couple of Master of Kung Fu's I read... -M

I have finished the month with 173 issues, which adds up to nearly as much as I've read the four prior months combined. Hard to pick a favorite, I really liked a lot of what I have read. Easier to pick what I didn't like.
TMNT #30 is a tough read, and if it was anyone's first impression to the Turtles it would likely be their last as well. Grips is not nearly as cool as it was when I was a kid. I got a laugh out of how bad it is. Wasteland struggled with keeping an artist about halfway through the series, which creates this awful problem where you can't recognize anybody from issue to issue, but it's about to end and the writing remained good the entire time. Reading DKR for the first time, I can see why people didn't like the art. I still like a lot of Miller's illustration in the book, but I think it was all done on a Wacom with old technology so it's all pixelated. There was only a couple panels where I thought "Wow, can't believe that made it to print." For the most part I think they were trying to make it look futuristic, and it ended up looking like an old game on a Tandy machine running DOS. It seems like Elfquest has just been a wreck since Kings Of The Broken Wheel ended. The 90's even crapped up the non superhero comics. I'll slug it out though. Mostly because I have most of them and those I don't have are free to read at elfquest.com.

In the Month of May I read the lowest amount of comics in 2 years at 62. I did spend more time in this forum than I ever have in CBr so that's part of it but personal obligations were a factor as well.
Favorites:
Fantastic Four 107-133. This was the run that started my comic book reading as a youth. The Great combo of Lee/Buscema will always have a place in my mind as one of my all time favorite runs.
Planetary #7. Every time I read a Planetary comic I always go away with the wow factor. Either from the story or the Artwork or both.
Bad reads:
The newer comics are a drawn out mess. New Avengers. I read 4 of this years books(15-18) and I don't think the storyline with the incursions was advanced at all.
Infinite Crisis#1. This was a poorly thought out idea, to bring back the further adventures of the Golden age Superman and making Superboy Prime into a pyscho killer. Sometimes you just have to leave well enough alone.
Didn't hold up:
Batman and Captain America. I don't remember the Artwork being so cartoony the first time I read it. The story wasn't bad but I guess this is when Byrne started to lose the appeal of his fans.

Little bit of a slow month for me, as I only read 85 books this month. Part of that was due to a lot of travel for work, while another factor was a weeklong trip to Disney World with the wife and daughters; I took some Essentials and Masterworks along with me on my trips, but did not have any sustained reading time for the most part.
Only 4 "new" comics this month, with the others all counting as classics under the board rules. Didn't make any progress on my read through Uncanny X-Men, probably because I've reached a point where I've already read the issues once and wasn't thrilled with pushing on further, although the lack of portability of all those floppies played into it also.
Read a decent amount of Marvel Team-Up this month (about 35 issues or so), which was my first time reading any of those books. A big portion of it was the Claremont/Byrne run before they took over X-Men, and these issues were really good. Also read the last five Journey Into Mystery issues before it became Thor, along with the first five Thor issues.
Worst thing I read all month was probably Moon Knight #3; I probably like Warren Ellis as much or more than any other writer, but this series has been profoundly disappointing. I'll keep buying it because he's the type of guy who will just put something amazing out there when you least expect it, but I'm starting to wonder when, or if, that will happen with this series.

I just finished Usagi Yojimbo: the wrath of the tangled skein and I have to say it had one of the coolest looking monsters I've ever seen. It was down right scary but at the same time it still fit in with the usual cartoony style that Sakai does so well.

I don't have the early Dark Horse issues. I stopped reading comics right when Usagi went to Mirage I think. So I missed most of the Mirage run and all of the Dark Horse run until I got back into comics. I've bought a ton of back issues, at least 50, maybe 100, but am still missing a lot. Especially from within the first 50 issues or so.
