Mouseguard is beautiful. I bought the first few issues but stopped because it was a very quick read, even when I paused to admire the artwork. I'd love to get caught up on it in trade though. Even though it was light in dialogue it was well written, and even when there was no dialogue the story was still communicated as well as if there was. The artwork is absolute top notch.

With 107 comics, April was a busy month for me, due mainly to the amount of time I spent on trains (7 hours today for example)
My reading broke into mainly two categories: 1) Going through my haul from Emerald City, which included Mind Mgmt and Bandette. A mystery/conspiracy science fiction story and the tale of a frivolous thief are about as different as can be, but stand out as two of the best comics of recent years. 2) Reading comics on my kindle. A brand new experience for me, and one I was very reluctant about. But I'm on the road. It's me and a suitcase. I can only have so many comics. So it was time. I read a ton of free comics from comixology, including a lot of #1 issues, which basically serve as ads for the rest of the series. And I bought some new digital trades, Saga, Locke & Key, and Nowhere Men for example. All excellent comics.

Well, I did just finish volume 3 of Batman Illustrated by Neal Adams last night. The last two issues of Vol.3 contained two Powers Records comics that I never would have read otherwise. Those brought back fond memories of all the various Marvel and DC Powers Records comics and records I had as a kid.
I must say that I'm in awe of how much some of you guys can read in a month. I really need to pick up the pace. I don't have nearly enough of an actual life to make excuses.

I think three posts should be sufficient. As for April I think my favorites were the old John Carter comics I read, Five Ghosts and the 2012 FCBD issue of Mouse Guard I'm not even sure there's a length limit on posts here. I haven't hit one yet. You may only need the one post That's a pretty nifty feature. As for Mouse Guard it's seriously one of my favorite books, and while the story is light in Fall: 1152 it really picks up as it moves along with the Black Axe being a truly fantastic read. I really love the world building that's taken place and it's one of those books that gets me excited when ever a new one is announced. I was pretty bumbed about striking out in my quest to get the new FCBD issue yesterday but no doubt I'll be able to buy it on ebay at a later date.

Same for me but for another reason- I'm having too much fun on this site. :) This is true for me as well. Haven't posted this much in a long time. I keep getting less than 6 hours of sleep a night trying to just read all the activity here before I go to bed.

It was okay. The ending made me want to read the upcoming series more. Story was a little to excessive on the violence but that's kind of DC's MO now.

Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk The violence was fairly heavy but I felt that it didn't revel in it to the extent that say Teen Titans did so I was alright with it, I was on the fence about adding another weekly comic book to my pull but this really sold me on it. Plus it's Batman Beyond, I love that.

Yeah, it won me over at the end. I wasn't really into the first 3/4 of the book but when they hit the Batman Beyond part it sucked me in. The ending cliffhanger was great and I'm looking forward to issue 1. And I do agree that it didn't revel in it like most of the other DC books do. Honestly, excessive violence and DC kind of just go hand in hand these days.
They just cheapen violence so much. One of the great aspects of Dan Slott's Superior Spider-Man was he just cranked that violence up a notch or two to show that this was a different Spider-Man. It served a purpose because you weren't used to seeing that in a Spider-Man book.
