I'm enjoying the Last Halloween a lot more than I thought I would. A lot of times these new sequels remind you that you really can't go home again but this one really does capture what I've always loved about Loeb's Batman work. There's good action, a decent mystery and some good character work so I'm definitely enjoying the read. I don't know if he'll be able to stick the landing but so far so good.

Action Comics #1073. still not loving the Supergirl back up. The main story has gotten better with Superman teaming up with Mon-El. I also realize I'm not a fan of weekly titles. Twice a month is OK but weekly feels like too much. Again that's just me.

Redcoat #7. the conclusion of the first arc. A quiet issue. Hitch does the heavy lifting as Johns has Hitch's art tell the story with minimal dialog. It's basically a conversation with Einstein on his deathbed with Simon. But it is emotional and weighs heavily on Simon (Redcoat).

It's certainly a lot of Superman content at once being a weekly book, the story is good but weirdly getting it so often makes the pacing seem a little fast to me. I also got Phases of Moonknight...and the anime feature just wasn't for me. The art was good but the story itself made zero sense. I liked the second feature though and I actually wouldn't mind seeing more of that version of Hunter's Moon and her world.
