Despite having an utterly boring villain Nightwing was none the less a decent ending to a pretty amazing run. Batman and Robin was a pretty solid start with some amazing art by Samnee and some solid character moments for Dick.

Action #1071 the main story is good so far even though im not a fan of the phantom zone. Still underwhemed with the Supergirl back up. Batman and Robin Year One #1 great story and art. World's Finest #31 ok. Not an Eclipso fan. Nightwing #118 Heartless was the weakest part of the entire run although overall one of the best Nightwing runs in a long time. Moon Knight #1 more of MacKay's great writing on MK.

Grendel: Devil's Crucible: Defiance #4 by Matt Wagner and Brennan Wagner What Happened Before: Grendel Prime has returned to Earth after centuries travelling through space. Back on Earth, the rule of the Grendels has ended, they are now prosecuted by the new rulers, the Necro-Lords. Grendel Prime now travels with two Grendels in hiding who lead him to their hideout. Plot: Grendel Prime is introduced to the other Grendels. They accept him with a little hesitation and ask him to become their new leader, but he refuses. He does help them with their actual new leader though; a character we haven't seen for a long, long time.
Art: It's Matt Wagner again, so same as last time.
Overall: I complained about the last two issues feeling like filler. This one definitely doesn't and I get that we needed a few issues with little happening before dropping right to the reveal of the last page. Overall I'd say the mini had a strong start and finish, but it's definitely a prologue to the entire Crucible series which is set to be 3x4 issues.
Mystique #1 by Declan Shalvey
What Happened Before: Krakoa is done, the mutants are living among the humans again and Mystique is back to her old ways.
Plot: Mystique is after a device called "Protozoa" and runs into several agencies trying to stop her. Meanwhile Nick Fury Jr., now working for the CIA, is tipped off by Nick Fury Sr. about Mystique and starts to investigate her, signing up with S.H.I.E.L.D. (an office with a lot less budget right now than before) again.
Art: I really like Shalvey's art. It's simple, but effective and good at story telling.
Overall: This is a 5 issue mini-series and with a straightforward premise and a smaller cast (Mystique vs. Fury with some smaller characters to support) I think this is going to be good. There are references to years of comics in it, but it's not information that you really need. Shalvey also drops some hints that there may be another party involved (with Mystique being spotted in two different places around the same time), so as any good spy thriller there are already hints there for betrayals, backstabbing and misdirection.

Anyone else reading Avengers Assemble . #2 came out, and I really hope the title sticks around. Its essentially the Marvel version of Justice League Task Force. Steve Rogers asked a bunch of heroes to take shifts monitoring things at Avengers Mansion (which somehow is back, I don't really care how.. because Jarvis!) and go out on random missions. In universe they are calling it AvenG.E.R.S (Avengers Emergency Response Squad). This first 2 issue arc adds Night Thrasher to the team, and comes with Bomber Jackets! The first group is Steve, Clint Barton Hawkeye, Thrash, and Hercules, as they take on the Red Ghost (sort of). They've also added Julie Power for perhaps the next mission, she has a fun convo with Wasp. Really enjoyable stuff.. I guess I like Steve Orlando's writing (He's also doing the 2099 stuff, which has been pretty fun).
